  1. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) s owho going our closer now since robertson and kahnle are going to be gone they are calling up kopech.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) Dave is saying he's happy and who the is DAVE?
  3. This is cashing in. Rutherford is a good start. We need at least another B or B- type and come C+ though just to break even IMO.
  4. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:08 PM) Just ran Todd Frazier's expected BABIP through a calculator and his xBABIP is .284. That would mean (assuming a similar split between types of hit, slightly weighted towards singles) a batting line of .264/.375/.546. That's a lot more of a valuable deadline piece than he looks now, simply attempting to remove luck. I love that calculator but I'm not sure it has the statcast era (shifts, positioning) figured out yet. I once actually made my own database based off that calculator that auto calculated the expected, actual, and then difference, etc for the Sox.
  5. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) The Blue Jays broadcast against the Red Sox cut to DD and John Henry have a pretty emphatic conversation about something. Hahn is living rent free in these guys' heads.
  6. Well that was fast: Blake Rutherford Blake Rutherford is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Chicago White Sox organization. He played high school baseball at the Chaminade College Preparatory School. Wikipedia Born: May 2, 1997 (age 20), Morristown, NJ
  7. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:48 PM) Kahnle is pulling the car around lol lol
  8. QUOTE (RaySox @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:43 PM) This is absolute torture. Refreshing on Soxtalk and Twitter every 10 seconds is making my wrists hurt. If nothing comes out of all of this I'll be ticked. Just imagine how much your wrist is going to hurt 5 minutes after they announce we got Torres.
  9. If Nightengale is tweeting that, I think a deal is very close. He's usually the most tuned in national guy for the Sox.
  10. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 08:15 PM) Is there any precedent made for trading for long-term injured prospects? I'd love Dustin Fowler f*** no. That is an injury he's going to have a hard time coming back from given his entire game is predicated on speed. As a throw in sure, as a main piece f*** no. Fully torn patella tendon is a bad, bad injury. I should know, I had two and dedicated a large chunk of my life to learning about it and what pro athletes have been able to recovery from it. The list is not long.
  11. Even if this deal doesn't go down tonight it sure seems like good news that a bidding war has started.
  12. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:57 PM) Probably a pipe dream, but I'd gladly trade all 3 for Torres. Keep smoking, and keep hope alive.
  13. If Hahn somehow scurries up another great deal by starting a bidding war for Todd Frazier...that's going to be epic.
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) Could be that a deal is close, and the Sox do not want to run the risk of him getting injured. There is definitely something up. You don't just scratched a player last minute unless there is an injury or trade in the works (or you cut up your jerseys), and Frazier does not appear to be injured. lol, this will never get old. I love Sale but that is a classic meme for all time.
  15. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) Would be funny if it was the Yanks trading for Frazier and DRob. I do wonder if there was a last second "can you top this" text from Hann to some other GMs.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:26 PM) Yeah, I'm an idiot, just wishing Robertson being in the dugout to start the game actually meant something. Oh no worries you hardly even notice it at the games, let alone on TV.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) Yes. Sometimes a few of them will start down there on a "throwing day" when they know they don't have to work, but you will often see the bullpen crew walk down to the pen and begin getting loose in the middle innings. Right when you're at the game usually in the like the 3rd or 4th they will head down to the bullpen in a pack. The year Sale was a rookie he had to make the walk in a pink hello kitty backpack in Baltimore at a game I attended.
  18. Boston twitter is freaking out about the potential package they are sending, hahahahaha. Good. Sit and stew.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:10 PM) Real news Jon Heyman@JonHeyman 7:10 PM chisox are indeed in talks with red sox on frazier. he appears to be their top choice. not known to be done, but could happen fairly soon. no news.
  20. If I'm Hahn, DD is my best friend. Dude is not shy about emptying his system. He seems almost eager to do it.
  21. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) Martinez >>>> Frazier Not really. Todd actually has the same amount of fWAR the last two seasons. JD can't stay healthy. He's a better hitter, but Todd plays a premium position.
  22. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 06:46 PM) Don't get me wrong, he should be traded no matter what, but after looking at the JD Martinez trade I'm not all that optimistic what the package will be. I'll be surprised if we get any of their top 15 prospects hahn >>>>> avila
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 06:44 PM) So we're playing 23 on 25 against Kershaw? This...may not end well.... I'm actually fairly surprised how absolutely thorough the Sox have been about trying to lose as many games as possible. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if even the bunts are part of it. They have basically done everything possible to lose by not bringing up prospects, making Rodon the 5th starter, being incredibly careful with any injury, etc. It's working!
  24. QUOTE (Tony @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 06:31 PM) Todd Frazier is a healthy scratch Something's up.
