  1. No it doesn't. He's a pitcher. He's worth 150 million right now. He could be worth 25 million if he blows out his shoulder in the next two seasons, at best. Is James a poster here? I've got a bone to pick with him here, it doesn't make any sense. In fact, the very reason he wants to get extended in October is because it makes sense to cash in now, when his value is sky high and he's as healthy as he'll ever be going forward.
  2. I wonder if Crochet likes it in Chicago. He does have some reasons imo. But of course there's the losing.
  3. It's smart AF. He knows whatever club gets him will want to use him like a rented mule in October. That's how guys fray their shoulders and elbows, going max out at the end of the year. He might not even know he got hurt until he picked up a ball in the offseason and didn't feel right.
  4. Well that settles that. Trade him in the offseason. Of course I'd prefer to try and get a deal done, but we know that won't happen.
  5. he had a nice play earlier in the gap, amazingly. almost over ran it he got such a good jump.
  6. such a great cover, i saw them play it live with like 50 people in a packed nola venue in midtown about 6 years ago, forget the name of the spot. they only played like 10 tracks but it was so intense. the tuba player was going off.
  7. jon and beckham have to have the lowest word per out ratio of anybody in the league. just a s%*# awful broadcast on top of it all.
  8. look at his clown ass stance, at a certain point a coach has to get him to try something else. He can't cover anything other than middle in and his bat is so slow he often gets jammed anyways. A guy like eloy should be deep in the box with a toe tap imo.
  9. Eloy hit the ball in the air challenge...
  10. no but i did think grossman had a better stretch than his splits indicate, guess he's just really been decent not at any point better than like a 750 ops over a few weeks. still, better than when he was with us.
  11. cash considerations and a single baseball.
  12. You're right Jon, this game is shaping up like a familiar sight, another fucking loss.
  13. Our old buddy Grossman, who has cooled tremendously himself.
  14. And Crawford. And Dipoto already had a very White Sox like presser where he said to temper expectations. Oh well, there's plenty of other clubs the Sox can make deals with. It's hilarious seeing this team collapse and I got some money on it so even better.
  15. Swept at home by the Angels. 9-20 in their last 29. Haven't won a series in over a month. This team is so fucking White Sox man. It's uncanny. They are the same fucking thing, just at various different places in said thing at any given time.
  16. Drafting is the least of our problems. It's pretty much the only thing we've done halfway decent over the last decade. It's pretty much everything else we're trash tier at. It's not like we're an elite drafting team, few are consistently, but if we did everything as competently as the draft we'd be a much easier franchise to follow.
  17. So much for player development under a new GM. Same as it ever was.
  18. FIP doesn't seem that relevant in the new run environment of MLB. I am cautious on him as well because he really doesn't have a lot of room for error with his fastball sitting where it sits but in general it's not because his ERA is lower than his FIP by "too much".
