I've noticed ESPN is way more involved in hyping up MLB so far. Not sure if that's just related to the new TV thing (probably) but some of it is probably that MLB has pretty clearly surpassed the NBA in overall fan interest. I say this as a big NBA fan, it's just not a great product in the regular season.

At this point laughing a bit more at the mets is the least of my concerns. I wish Robert well but he is what he is at this point. At least he had a monster opening couple games for them.

Right now the problem with Getz as GM is the problem with Getz as head of player development: he can't SCOUT. He has absolutely zero eye for talent. At least Hahn preferred tools, even if a guy had zero actually ability. Getz likes 1 tool players that can't play as a bonus. There's zero upside to most these guys, relievers, OF and SP. The only spots filled by young talent are guys you really can't miss on giving what we traded.

Agree, and an obvious PR move even if it only sells some seats in Charlotte when they start.

Will has no good options. I don't envy him this year. He has very little upside for his career and it's hanging on somehow squeezing 70 wins out of a 65 win roster.
