  1. Hanging onto to positive fWAR at .1. His wxOBA is .320 so according to that metric he's been a bit unlucky. FG thinks he's about a league average defender at 2B, which is something he can hang his hat on as a utility player or borderline starter. Looking at his statcast data I see an average MLB athlete with good contact skills that still needs to mature as a hitter, especially late in counts. He has enough contact skills where pitchers won't necessarily just be throwing him a get me over at any point in the count. He's worst 1 percentile in chase, if he can just get that to like bottom 1/3 and up his walk rate he'll raise his floor quite a bit.
  2. it appears we sent cash out. twice in two weeks no?
  3. Is he on the 40 man? Not sure why we need to clutter that more if so, but whatever.
  4. As I just said in the other thread Vaughn hasn't put any work into his body. You can be short but you can also be super strong and explosive at any size and he has the same body he came in with as a rookie. It just doesn't make any sense to keep him around as some sort of charity case from a former 3rd overall pick.
  5. I know you're just trolling but how is he going to learn to "lift and pull" better when we have almost 5 full years of data that says otherwise? Look at that hitch in his swing, it's worse than when he was a rookie. He hasn't matured physically or mentally as a hitter and he's got such a high bar to clear as a 1B/DH RHB that is bottom 1/5 on the bases an defensively, he'll never get there. Time to move on. Who even cares if goes on to have a little Burger like flash? We need to find out guys who will be here on the next (hopefully) good Sox team in 2-4 years, it sure ain't going to be Vaughn.
  6. If JR would offer him like a 4 year 85 million extension I'd be more than open to keeping him. But you know we'll just lose him for nothing in two years anyways. That's sadly is where we are at.
  7. Be interesting what they do if Beni needs a couple weeks for that hammy. You'd think Elko would have to be up here one way or another but who knows.
  8. Nice games from Sosa, Quero, Robert and Meidroth and somehow Vasil went 2.1 of shut out ball. Helped by a slick double play started by Vargus. Quero and Meidroth have done wonders for keeping the offense moving and providing chances for runs. Both rocking an OBP of over .400 since coming up. That's probably the only time that's happened in a 100 or so PA sample in a long, long time. This team might not be historically awful anymore and is just plain old bad. We'll take it, if so.
  9. what a play by vargas man. get vaughn off this fucking team please.
  10. that works tho. I'm shocked we came back to tie it up.
  11. lol ball should have been in teh bleachers.
  12. Ump sucks and so does our bullpen.
  13. Come on get this last fucking out. Smart change by Venable.
  14. lol, I'd get rung up on that one.
  15. lol, wow, we'll take it. Thaiss didn't even think it was worth much of a frame.
  16. wow, on replay that was a helluva pitch and a better play by Thais to hold on. We are making more plays this year no doubt.
  17. that might have been the smartest thing John has ever said.
  18. let's get the lead back, lets go boys.
  19. don't see a lot of pure 12-6 droppers anymore. I like it.
  20. "moving it in and out that feels really good".
  21. that was a shanked PW from 100 yards out.
