  1. I really don't understand this thread. I mean I do, I guess, because Jose is Jose -- but Vaughn has not panned out how anybody would have hoped. When you draft a 1B/DH only type in the top 5 you sure as hell are hoping they can at least hit 30 HR a year and get on base enough to produce 2 WAR. So far, Vaughn has not done that. He's negative fWAR for his career. He's still young enough to where you hope with some adjustments he can hit more fly balls and the power will come, but comparing him with Abreu doesn't make much sense. It's not like the Sox hit a grand slam here. They were outbid by an actual good franchise on Jose, and his replacement still is yet to have a positive fWAR season. The joke is still on the Sox. The Astros can eat Jose's contract no problem if they need, and they have hung a couple banners in the last 5 years regardless.
  2. I was curious if anybody had bested MB's 236.7 IP in a season since 2005. Turns out he didn't even lead the league that year. It was Livan Hernandez with 246.3 Since then, it's been bested half a dozen times or so. Although I do not think we'll see a 240IP season any time soon. The last one was in 2014 with David Price clocking 248.
  3. He's not a good player tho. He's barely replacement.
  4. I hope they get hotter than s%*#. But when they don't, fire Hahn.
  5. Hey guys the bums we have in AAA are not any better than the bums we have in MLB. Carry on.
  6. Eloy. At least Robert is elite at a premium defensive position.
  7. Lucas is one of the most likeable guys on the team and for the most part has performed. I'll be sad to see him go but happy to see him go to a team where he has a better chance of winning.
  8. It's to get more velocity. I believe it is one of the core things drive line teaches. I believe it has to do with the arm speed generated by the mechanics they teach.
  9. Of course you do, you have a lot of strident contrarian opinions. Healthy 25 year old on pace to play 156 games, something that's been done literally tens of thousands of times in MLB and you're all "nah, he needs more rest".
  10. Way things are looking, I'll be able to get a Sox dugout side ticket rows 5-10 or so for about 40-50 bucks when they come to Seattle. The Mariners look disappointing as well. I'll boo the s%*# out of the Sox: money well spent.
  11. I love Hawk but circa 2015 his brain broke. Honestly if he was watching this year's team he probably would have called someone a c_nt and ruined any legacy he had.
  12. If you look back a few years ago the Sox were the talk of the town. Yea, and I used to have a 32" waist.
  13. In better news, the official White Sox IG account posted a new promotion. For every game under .500 the team is prior to the homestand beers are 20 cents off. If current trends hold, beer will be free by mid summer.
  14. Joe Kelly is a clown. He fits right in here.
  15. I almost hope we win 50 in a row just so the retconning of Rickie, who will never be a manager in mlb again, stops.
