  1. Gets us to probably a projected 78 or so wins, which you could have a fluke and get to 88 some years. It would be awesome as a fan to have that budget but this is just fantasy. We're a poverty franchise for now.
  2. A 1 WAR 33 year old 1B is a target?
  3. Some weird takes here even if cynicism is warranted. I for one welcome watching Robert, hopefully motivated, healthy and in a slightly better lineup for another 70 or so games. He's a joy to watch on defense if absolutely nothing else.
  4. Ty. Jim is so much better when he can simply write what he's seeing in a game and not doing whatever the heck it is he does when he's more meta focused. Antonacci is a dude it appears. Be nice to have some middle IF depth.
  5. Depressing. We are going to need like 15 more WAR from SP before we are any good.
  6. If god willing and the creek don't rise in 30 years if I'm 70 and posting here I will DEF be reminding people I was alive for a period 60 years earlier. I'll be making every Sammy Sosa was once a White Sox post possible.
  7. Great thread. Thanks. Most people that start this type of thread think they should be GM. Appreciate the humility here.
  8. Naylor and Bellinger would make us like a 75 win team on paper assuming you make a couple smart pitching adds maybe even get up around 77-78. I'd settle for that.
  9. I think we all remember when Jose had to intervene with Reylo to get him off the mound. They were not in good communication about it, especially with the latin guys.
  10. Obviously some of it was his own issues but I don't think the Sox did him any favors with their approach to his training and especially his core issues. Let's hope Colson fares better. Thread tax I really do think the farm is one of our decent points ATM as a franchise. There's good depth even if there isn't a couple top 20 overall types and depth is usually better.
  11. Player development goes a long way too. Compare Colson to Moncada for example. It would be nice to see us move up from trash tier player dev into just mediocre.
  12. Tigers have no SP tho. Skubal is gone next year maybe even this offseason. No team in the division looks great next 2-3 years imo. If Ishbia spends some I can see 2028 as a chance to make some noise.
  13. MLB currently has zombie franchises in Miami, TB and uh, Sacramento and they want to move into SLC and Nashville? With the bubble burst on the broadcast rights, at least partially, I don't see a need to expand right now. It would just increase the number of takers relative to makers.
  14. Eh, the trade right now looks to be a win win for both teams. Calling it anything else seems premature at best. And let's be cognizant that Crochet has already had TJS and will carry an elevated injury risk on a large contract for the next 6 years. There's downside risk the Sox avoided by getting cost controlled young position players for him.
  15. Ray it's been a minute but you're back on your BS again. Gotta call you out here. Why are you choosing this particular moment to take a victory lap? There's no way to judge this trade for another 3-4 years. There's so much still to happen. Lord knows we've had trades like fine or even great after one or two seasons only for them to look horrific 4-5 years down the road.
  16. No offense to Lip who was just relaying but what a cowardly way to talk about folks on their way out. Put your name on that. At least the "radio clowns" do. Speaks to the disfunction and tribes within this s%*# org.
  17. I kinda like it just cause the easier thing is to just do nothing and "show loyalty" -- hiring someone better requires more money and effort. Huh.
  18. 1 WAR players have a place on every roster, especially those that can play a passable 2B on league min. The problem isn't Sosa it's finding better players of course around him. In my lifetime the Sox have had a lot of horrible 2B. The best was Durham, Tadihito was solid. Beckham stunk, Sanchez was overmatched as a regular, and so on. Sosa just being youngish cheap and decent is fine. @wegner that trade was horrific the second it was announced. horrible thought process to think oh yea just throw away a lotto ticket (or maybe like a stock option) in order to what exactly? eat 50 innings out of the bullpen? in a year you're losing 100+?
  19. This is my grade. There are many like it but this one is mine.
