  1. OK having Nishida 9th makes sense. So tired of seeing Beni 6th however. Romo should be batting 6th given his profile of boom or bust. Perfect spot for that type.
  2. Twisting isn't really the issue it's just pushing off it over and over again. I had it really bad for decades before mine ripped, played through it in college and through countless pickup games on the hard pavement of NYC. The pain never really goes above a 3, it's just a nuisances really. Over time the micro tears can cause issues but in a young athlete like Noah that's not at all a concern. 12 years, sure.
  3. Patellar tendonitus is a "he's not really hurt we just need a roster spot" injury if I've ever seen one. I'd estimate 90% of pro athletes deal with patellar tendon soreness mid season. Jordan famously played through it most of his career.
  4. Down to 10th in fWAR for position players at 7.1, 9th in wrC+ at 104. Defense been slipping last few games, down to -.9.8 runs below average and 18th in MLB. Pitching fWAR is 19th at 4.1. Be nice to slap the crap out of the Twins the next couple games and improve those numbers.
  5. Fun is winning and winning is fun. You need talent to win. We finally have some.
  6. Be really nice to win today with Martin going tmr. I tend to think they use Sandlin in the bullpen for now but who knows.
  7. True, but I'll take 10 runs saved in RF. We somehow got a 6.2 fWAR season out of Eaton. He was never the same after he hurt himself again after that season iirc. Tore his ACL I think.
  8. Thankfully we're now in a position where we have younger cheaper probably more promising options in house for these end of roster spots. I was hesitant to let Sosa walk but with Chase holding his own and Sam banging down the door there just wasn't any room for him here. The mistake was probably just letting it come to that, he could have gotten a lotto ticket in the offseason.
  9. Adam eaton lite without the clubhouse issues is a solid add.
  10. Hell yea, all hands on deck. Might as well try and be decent.
  11. If told me those 4 would combine for 8K and 1BB today and I've said f*** off. But they did. Kay had a pretty nasty breaking ball (splitter?) working in the middle innings there. He was wild AF but he did a good enough job pitching around trouble. Defense played mediocre today and the staff did a good job not giving in. That Peter's error could have been a back breaker on another day.
  12. Vaughn went 2-4 with 2 doubles day and now has a 168 wRC+, granted in only 55 PA after the wrist injury earlier. Brewers seem to have found something with him, and he's finally pulling the ball on the regular (45% pull rate this season) even if the power isn't really there he's making better contact overall. Limited player as a below average 1B and the wrong side of a platoon but on the Brewers he just slides in as a solid bat and that's about all they and I'd assume Andrew need for success. That said, a divorce was needed for both parties and there's no hard feelings at this point. Vaughn was a symbol of the failed old regime and it was better for everybody to move on.
  13. There's no need to reach for anything. You have a 3-5 WAR SS just sitting there. It's a no brainer. WIth the club suddenly fielding a pretty solid IF Roch fits perfectly with the timeline and if things are so good in two years then he goes to 2B or 3B and we just keep building. It's going to be hard to get colson off SS even if he's only a league average bat hes looking like a +15 run defensive player.
  14. If you had the Sox at 1 over on Memorial Day and in a WC with the Tigers 12 under and 10.5 back in the division go ahead and collect your winnings.
  15. Sox back in the 2nd wildcard with 1/3 the season over. Fairly remarkable.
  16. I like that he wants to be a part of this team even tho he could be rehabbing on his own. Hopefully he can come back strong next year we're at least 2-3 pitchers short of a solid bunch.
  17. Eh, they came out flat in San Fran after an off day. It's just a mediocre team with a solid offense and a mediocre to bad pitching staff. That's solid progress tho.
  18. Always feels good to beat the Twins! Sloppy game really but we'll take it. Winning when you don't play great is progress. Great job by Kay finding a way to get it done today.
  19. Thank fucking god he was out in front of that a bit.
  20. At this point I just hope he gets out of it 3-3. No confidence.
  21. It's either a footoutside or right down broadway. Only a matter of time before he gets crushed.
  22. Great challenge! We'll take it.
  23. God he fucking sucks. Not sure how much longer you can pretend he's the closer.
  24. 636 OPS for Beni. And he's the DH. Just killing this team.
