  1. Sox to James: James we have an offer you can't refuse: we'll pay you less, with less years, to get less playing time than you would in New York. James: Where do I sign?
  2. Yea AAV is lower than I expected but four years is the trade off for the Mets. I predicted 3/45 for James and as expected Sox never had a shot at a competitive bid.
  3. lol it's the giving season after all!
  4. The team option is what I like. Take away all the upside away from Eaton and yet he still has to bet on himself and work hard to try and get one more deal. People should probably realize the Sox are going to be a stars and scrubs lineup unless JR just goes completely ham on payroll, which isn't happening. Finding some guys like Eaton that will be just average regulars will be important. The Sox aren't going to start operating like the Dodgers or Yankees.
  5. It all comes down to health. If Eaton is healthy he's going to be a solid player next year. Is it what I'd have done holistically as an approach to RF? Probably not, but it's not a bad signing. I think the range of outcomes is pretty decent.
  6. There's really not that big of a gap in overall production. Joc is the better player but it's not like he's going to put up a 4 WAR season next year while Adam is replacement level. I'd expect if playing time is equal and both are healthy (big if) that they'd both put up around 2-3 WAR next year with Joc maybe .5 ahead of Adam. @Harold's Leg Lift -- dude you're conflating the three true outcome approach, which clearly works for a lot of hitters, with a fundamental change in how runs are created (linear weights). Runs are still created in the same ways as ever.
  7. He's a good platoon option in RF, unlike Mazara, and is being paid basically like a 1 WAR player. It's fine. As long as TLR uses him properly, which we'll see.
  8. much different situation this time around. Including Eaton, who has no doubt been humbled since he was a mid 20s ascending player and has dealt with injury and reached the top of the mountain in Washington.
  9. SECURE YOUR DUMPSTERS HAHN IS ON THE PROWL. Honestly tho I kinda like this move. It's a good buy low.
  10. I admit I just wanted to type something in that moment involving a bear and shit. I'm completely checked out from the offseason. I'll see you guys in March. Been a long year got too much real life shit to deal with.
  11. I like it. Can never have enough live arms.
  12. What is Cooper's first language, troll?
  13. A guy like Cease is never going to "spot his fastball" consistently. Cooper's emphasis on fastball is just out dated thinking. Hey my dad believed the same thing it's just old school baseball: you establish the fastball then pitch off it. Forget that thinking tho it's been proven that many guys have more success going away from heavy fastball usage.
  14. Last good nickname we had was Torpedo Boat imo. If you don't know who that is it's the guy that fired over to Kong in 2005 for the ultimate White Sox winner.
  15. Everything sucks.
  16. Congrats. Maybe I can sell the ball he signed for me his 1st spring at camel back to pay for counselling I need for the Sox hiring a drunk pos.
  17. As I said this has shades of Dave Brandon at Michigan. You can't just not say anything and hope it goes away.
  18. Too bad US Cellular isn't still the park sponsor as there is alot of synergy there. From the jail cell to ...
  19. The noise isn't going to die down. In fact it's just getting started.
  20. It turns out that the Sox have the perfect sponsor!
  21. Yea, sounds like a guy ready to resign. Feel for the guys in this org that have to put up with this clown show from their boss.
  22. Jesus Christ. What an ass clown. I'm sorry I wasted any time defending this hire.
