I'm in a good mood man. pandemic is ending, sun is warm in the sky again, UM hoops looks FF bound, my favorite baseball team starts spring training games in 36 hours. Shit even the stinkin' Chicago Bulls look decent. But hey, if you want to rehash your grievances Martin Luther style and pin them to your profile you do you.

This is Harper/Machado all over except in late February with a WS contending squad so yea I can and will say, politely, to please STFU about JR and Hahn and TLR and how bad things are as a Sox fan.

If you think his mild criticism is ripping the fans than he's right some fans are excitable beyond reason and should be called out.

Good. Grief. Last week Hahn was a wallflower getting stepped on by his owner. Today he's a whiner that can't handle fan criticism. Guess what you guys proved his point. Fans are fickle and mercurial.

Wouldn't be half as fun a board without it!

Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
Oh I don't know, half a dozen DH types already on the 40 man?
-
Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
I don't think any of them will put up an OPS around 800. That was the slash line needed to be a 1 WAR backup. Frankly I'd expect all of them closer to 700, which is my point. Why start Vaughn's clock to get him 10 PA a week when you have similar production already on the 40 man?

TA7 on Hanging with Hurt
Too many posters here project how they would handle things. Thing is, you don't become a pro athlete by being mentally weak or unable to work with people you don't necessarily like.

Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
I don't go all in on bets I have no control over. For all I know the three guys in front of him ostensibly on the depth chart all are hurt by the 3rd week of May. Anyways, I'm moving on, this topic has already been beaten into a dead horse and we are still 5 weeks away from breaking camp.

Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
He'd have to hit like 280/330/470 to be about a 1 WAR backup DH/1B. You can probably get similar from Collins or Yermin. There is zero reason to break camp with Vaughn up. At absolute best he comes up after super 2 is over. The Sox aren't going to add him to the 40 man before then.

Maybe if I was 21 like in 2005 when I created my account ;-). I'm too old for that shit man. And June 15th is moving the goalpost already in your favor. We'll just have to wait and see.

Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
I guess as usual you have no real argument to make so you do your usual guffaw defense mechanism. Andrew Vaughn is going to be in Birmingham until at least late June. There isn't a shred of evidence he's ready to contribute to a contending MLB team.

Seems bog standard fluff from 1st week of full camp to me. In three weeks or so they will be back in minor league camp and off the radar.
-
Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
Because Andrew Vaughn has never played above high A and didn't exactly light the league on fire? This is just bizarre. I like the kid, he's not Kris Bryant circa 2014.

Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
Zach Collins is the backup DH, 1B and C. People should get used to that.
-
Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
Jesus no one even responded to my post showing his lack of PA above high A? His shitty projections give the Sox all the cover they need along with his inexperience to keep him down all year if they want. People acting like Vaughn is ready are using what exactly? He will be lucky to be in Charlotte by July. I'd imagine he spends most the year in AA soaking up PA, as he should.

It would be nice to have a legit in house option emerge from somewhere. A few years ago you'd have figured one of the pile of Sheets, Walker, Micker, Basabe and Rutherford would be a decent MLB player. So far crickets.- Spring Training thread

Moreover he fit the window from 2021 to 2025 or so.- Mariners president and CEO Kevin Mather's Zoom Call
@Jack Parkman Be thankful we are not Mariners fans. They are the low rent version of the Sox. That's hard to do.- Andrew Vaughn Article - 3B/OF and Opening Day considerations
Yes, and he will not be up before then. It's just...how it's done. Players more talented and ready than Vaughn have gone through it. - Spring Training thread
