Only guy I'd consider "off limits unless you want to completely overpay" is Bummer. Bummer could be the closer for the next 4-5 years. I like what Rickie is doing with Herrera he's slowly trying to build him back up unto a reliable set up guy so he can be flipped for anything hopefully. Herrera has looked much better stuff wise the last month. Fastball is back at 98 and his slider is moving again.

I don't agree but as for the specific signing you mentioned I'd be all for it. Getting 2-3 WAR veterans on reasonable deals is going to be huge the next decade.

Eh there's plenty of dead wood to cut off. Jimmy Cordero, Yonder, Cordell, almost another half dozen relievers. Engel (you'd probably pick one of Cordell and Enge to cut). Sox will have a 40 man crunch when they are good again. They aren't quite there yet.
