he's a 1.5 WAR vet on a 3 WAR vet contract -- we'll be lucky to get a warm body in A ball and a semi prospect in AA. That said, I hope he gets hotter than s%*#.
It still counts but he got off to such a horrible start that even being above league average with his xwOBA for about a month still has him below average overall. He keeps this level of play up however and he'll have a really fine season: bonehead mistakes can be cleaned up hitting the ball hard and playing a decent overall 2B is a solid floor.
The bullpen solution is to build enough org wide pitching talent to where you have failed starters and guys otherwise pushing for MLB experience but that are still potential starters to fill in slots like 1-4. Then for setup and closer you make smart signings.
106 left we'd need to win 47 to get to 65. So quick maths that's almost a 45 percent winning rate. Not happening, but I'll give you we won't break our own record or come close to the Rockies. I'll go with we win 58. Which would be enough to give Getz a passing grade imo.
that's where we are at. cue alonzo_mourning.gif
They did a good job, helped by a Mets team that looked ready to get this one over with.
Vargas up to a 118 wRC+ and into the top 60 or so in fWAR in MLB. He's only .1 fWAR behind Ely De La Cruz. Funny game, baseball.
We had a very competitive series. Nice to see. Blew some games but we're a bad team. If we are going to be bad at least be competitive most of the time until the inevitable error or bad pitching performance late.
It's not that deep bro. Why don't you just enjoy young players improving regardless of which rabbi found them. But since you're so sensitive I won't tweak ya anymore.
