  1. Lopez's delivery looking smoother lately. Using his legs better.
  2. wow game from robert. jesus. video game mode.
  3. they have been beating up on mostly bad teams but you play the schedule. nice to see.
  4. infuriating to see on a nightly basis. fuck that shit. manager actively helping lose!
  5. At the big league level that's coaching. That's the analytics and video analysis team. More and more athletes are also hiring "performance coaches" to try and get in the right mental mindset to succeed and prevent "brain farts" like collisions in the OF, forgetting how many outs there are, stuff like that. Doesn't seem like the Sox have one of those available either.
  6. He's a catcher that can put up a .350 OBP. I don't care how bad his framing is as long as he can put up 260/350/380 he'll have a MLB roster spot, albeit maybe as a backup. I'd bet he has 5-7 years left in MLB. Phegley is another cromulent backup the Sox basically gave up on and another org was able to polish enough to be a useful player. Again, in isolation no big deal, but it's a pattern.
  7. The list of cromulent, cheap MLB quality players that the Sox have traded away in the last 5-7 years continues to grow and grow and grow. Problem is: is it a scouting issue or a coaching issue or both? I tend to think it's a coaching issue. I do believe the White Sox have one of the worst coaching philosophies and teaching ability in MLB. Their players rarely if ever show unexpected improvement, especially defensively. On the pitching side whatever they are doing to prevent injuries and develop secondary pitches and consistent deliveries seems to be at best well below league average and at worst -- horrendous. The scouting seems to be middle of the road but the coaching is just putrid.
  8. Yesterday when I was driving I overheard a conversation with a Mariners reporter about Narvaez. He said it was well known the the White Sox cannot develop catchers (defensively) and that the best thing that ever happened to Narvaez was getting out of Chicago. It was a tough listen as a Sox fan.
  9. Since the Hahn thread is inexplicably locked: Chris Bassit, our old friend and Hahn "throw in" has now pitched roughtly 200 MLB innnings for the As and his given them 2.5 fWAR. He looks to be improving and has had a great start to 2019. He's 30 and has a few good years left most likely.
  10. Fun with selective end points. Again I ask someone with a bref sub that can run the report what he ranks when you take away his 6 WAR rookie year which is clearly an outlier.

  12. Good point. But it's kinda hard to avoid him because he certainly isn't interview shy. They'd have moved him to CF and he'd be mired in low A ball no doubt.
  13. Honestly one trade doesn't make or break a GM but when your record is as bad as Hahn's and you make that trade well, it's a little different. He can laugh that one off, eventually if you trade A ball lotto tickets for mediocre big leaguers you'll get burnt but within the context of his tenure as GM boy oh boy it just looks like a pattern.
  14. God I hate this shit. Just man up. YOU'RE THE FUCKING GM. HAVE SOME PRIDE IF YOUR "VISION" IS BEING NEGATED THAN FUCKING RESIGN. Sadly I've come to realize that while a smart guy and a smooth talker Hahn is just a yes man like Gar that doesn't really bring any real skills to the job other than perhaps contract negotiation. There is a reason that JR has setup the Bulls and Sox in similar ways. If nobody is in charge, nobody can be blamed!
