  1. Giolito bearing down and hanging in against Price to allow the comeback might be the rare "ra ra" moment I can believe in for a guy. Hopefully he gets some dap and he gains confidence in himself.
  2. Come on Gio just get through this inning. Has been a pretty decent outing against a tough lineup just get out of here unscathed.
  3. With the Rodon news the Sox can officially point to TA in the last decade as a good 1st round pick. That's it.
  4. Good lord. The ball is juiced beyond belief.
  5. It hardly sets them back at all. This version of Rodon is a 2-3 WAR starter.
  6. Anytime a guy has a sudden breakout at 27-29 it's a possible cause. I was being mostly tongue in cheek but it never surprises me when a pro athlete gets popped for PEDs.
  7. THROW THE FUCKING BALL.
  8. In the ways you'd expect from Boston massholes.
  9. Jesus christ the Red Sox announcers are insufferable.
  10. No control as usual with runners on.
  11. Is this ump blind? Was almost right down the middle.
  12. Gio picking up where he left off. He looks nice. 95 on his fastball and a nasty changeup for his first strikeout and out.
  13. There were whispers last year that the Sox were not at all happy with Rodon's offseason work and that he's more interested in hunting and drinking beer than his fitness. Who knows, he looks yoked.
  14. do the opposite. Do a constanza. Whatever their inclination is do the opposite. Seriously. It's not working. Cooper should not have a lifetime gig.
  15. Doesn't seem like it was much of a sprain if he's already hitting. Nice, rare good injury news for this club.
  16. TJS and shoulder surgery he'd be lucky to be an effective MLB starter again. Probably would be time to move to the pen and make him a closer.
  17. Not even mad. Rodon has been damaged goods since his shoulder surgery. Have never figured on him being anything more than a 3rd or 4th on the next playoff team. Should have tried to dump him in the offseason, oh well.
  18. Do you remember how awful Ozzie's lineups were and how he had a fetish for slap hitters? Do you remember how he quit on the team in the middle of the season to pursue another manager job? Why in the world would any so called fan want this bum anywhere close to the Sox?
  19. It's amazing that folks have such a short memory. Fuck Ozzie he quit on the team. He should be blackballed from the Sox org.
  20. All depends on if any of the pitching develops and comes through. With Rodon looking like a 3rd starter at best that puts a ton of pressure on Gio and Lopez to be no worse than 3/4s themselves. Maybe you can squint and see one of them emerging as a decent #2 but that's a helluva squint. Offense will be fun, pitching and defense will continue to be bad to borderline unwatchable. 75 wins, I'm sticking to it until something changes with the true talent level.
  21. So on the Mariners radio the other day (another bad franchise) they were talking about how they believe that framing is a teachable skill at the MLB level and that in part is why they traded for Narvaez. Nomar has slightly improved his framing, he's now just bad instead of league worst but guess who is worse, much worse so far this year? Castillo. Something is def wrong with the MLB coaching staff. They do not get the best out of their guys. When even another bad franchise like Seattle can get more out of Narvaez that's no bueno.
