  1. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) If the Sox end up being non-contenders then what's the rush? Too many problems to be fixed during the season for a non-contender. That's why I keep saying, patience. They showed no patience last offseason and that's set us back at least a year, maybe more.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 07:23 PM) Still. And I am supposed to believe that Sox fans could handle being bad until next decade at least? LMAO. I see no reason to expect anything else as it is.
  3. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 06:59 PM) The Sox can not do the Cubs did, the fanbase won't allow it. They've tolerated 7 straight seasons of missing the playoffs and 4 seasons under .500 in their last 5.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 06:42 PM) Sox fans can't handle a couple of months of bad baseball. They would have a conniption fit if Chris Sale got traded, no matter what the return. "A couple months of bad baseball" = 2 months of better than .500 baseball since August of 2012. "A couple" = 14.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 06:31 PM) the sox did not waste a 3 rounder for him to sign. then to either eat his contract or to trade if for less value. He's in the same void as Danks now, can't not play him but no one would take him unless you pay most of it. He's now a sunk cost and we just have to get used to it.
  6. Now that he's back to normal, no they would not get fair value by trading him. That said...I'm a lot more open than I was last year. This year's utter failure means we are now likely to waste several more of his good seasons waiting for contracts like Melky to clear and if they did move him at least they'd stop making dumb decisions like spending a ton of money and trading for guys about to become FA when their roster was no where near good enough to do so.
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) No it's not. It's getting this year's team to around .500. That's a 8-10 game improvement. Then you try to win again next season with a front 3 of Sale, Rodon, and Quintana. They really don't have anyone to trade off of this team anyway. I don't really see much young help coming. Still more likely to add than subtract in my opinion. So if there's no help coming what do they have to trade to make this team 10 games better this year?
  8. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) Form a package around Montas for Gallo The Rangers are interested. Of course they're interested because they assumed you meant Sale when you typed Montas because no one on Earth would think there's a fair deal the White Sox could construct for Gallo without Sale being involved.
  9. Well I'll be the first to say that Robin's absence clearly tore the heart out of this team over the weekend.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:53 PM) Trade everyone besides Sale, Abreu, Eaton, Avi, Q, Rodon and Robertson Small problem...the "trade" implies you'd get something back if you sent anyone other than those guys to another team. Getting a "bill" back for 1/2 their salary isn't exactly a trade.
  11. The positive sweep followed by the negative sweep.
  12. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:43 PM) Sigh.... duke I just went and looked at his numbers and it's unbelievable how bad he's been lately. 1.053 OPS against him the last month, 2.667 OPS against him this week.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:26 PM) Maybe the players just aren't good enough in the first place? Well the people who assembled that roster and thought they were worth the money deserve a bit of that blame then too.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:16 PM) Starting to dislike Eaton way too many hits fall in front of him. maybe the coaching staff had a point with that flareup.
  15. BTW keep meaning to ask is that former white sox farmhand Jake Elmore?
  16. Eaton seemed like he was pretty deep and shifted there too.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) It's still Chris Sale. F***. I had to have confidence. F***.
  18. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:11 PM) Crap lead off walk It's still Chris Sale.
  19. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 02:19 AM) I f***ing hate Lebron. There's no denying what a great player he is. The guy is just a real.........dick. ANd he even showed you his! (rimshot)
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) I cannot see Vince back in 2016. I will believe any member of this coaching staff will be replaced when I see it, not before.
  21. FWIW, the leadoff single off Sale today fell in CF and I was wondering why Eaton was playing that deep.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 14, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) It's simply astonishing how bad the defense has been. I disagree. This is who this franchise is. It's who they've been for a full decade.
  23. So I didn't make it here yet but did anyone notice that Eaton was playing particularly deep on that game-leadoff single?
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 09:24 PM) He should have never been sent down IMO. Hopefully he gets another shot with us soon, because Sanchez does not look like an everyday player. Neither did Micah. He should have gotten 1/2 a year or more in AAA first. Alas we pretended we had a good enough roster that "rushed rookie 2b" wouldn't be a major issue.
