  1. Are they playing the "Mario picks up a coin" sound when a runner crosses home plate? I'll give them compliments on that if so.
  2. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) All you have heard is that the media in general is in love with Hillary. Most of them are die hard Democrats anyway, so not such a stretch. Because you guys keep saying it and if republicans say it often enough it must be true.
  3. Eaton scores on LaRoche groundout, 1-0 White Sox.
  4. I'm not sure I remember the last time an Abreu at bat looked that bad.
  5. He walked to the stretcher under his own power. Holding the right side of his face.
  6. It looks like it got him in the lower right jaw or lower right side of his face, below the hat line
  7. Hes' still face down, trainer is rubbing his neck looking for damage. Pitcher (McAllister) up in the bullpen, stretcher out.
  8. For those not watching, line drive off Cabrera's bat nailed Carrasco, got him directly in the side of the head, he's face down on the mound.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) don't forget the fact that RV should not allow a rookie to get comfortable by playing him consistently. The focus shouldn't be about how to get the backups the best matchups. It should be about how to get the rookie comfortable in the MLB. Does this mean you're mad at Robin for not playing Micah today?
  10. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 02:37 PM) Thirded. You'd think our presidential choices would me more broadly considered than the Sox' managerial hires. You don't have to come up with multiple billions of dollars handed to you by incredibly rich friends of yours to become manager of the White Sox.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) We are only 3 or 4 days away removed from the team taking on the personality of it's manager posts, and it wasn't meant positively. Then. Stop. Losing. Baseball. Games.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) One thing to remember about Robin is that he isn't going to show a guy up in the media, but he will take care of them in the lockerroom. There are stories about Robin laying into guys both as a player and a manager that aren't well publicized. Then I expect to see some of the stupid mistakes that have defined this team for the past 2+ years on the field to gradually stop. Otherwise, I will continue to judge the corrective techniques being applied to be ineffective.
  13. The change to the righties also seems to be a much, much stronger weapon than the slider when thrown by a LHP.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 02:37 PM) Trading him could actually be the smart play though. Do you think people would go to a new stadium to see 1 star player? I'm not trying to argue, I've just never understood that sentiment. Rockies and Phillies could benefit from dealing Hamels, Lee, Utley, Cargo, Tulo. I've seen the excuse that the fans go to watch those guys play. I'd much rather have the return and the possibility of a better baseball team instead of going out and seeing a bad team play that has "stars" on it. I know it's a different scenario from Longoria but if they could get 5-6 players? I'd consider it. In other words the Rays need to get a spectacular return for him. They'd probably move him in that case. Until then, he's an all star on an extremely affordable long term contract that they don't need to move and that won't change until someone gives them a great offer.
  15. To stress...the White Sox are probably a pretty good fit for Longoria. They have a long term need at 3b, don't have anyone who could immediately fill that, could probably take on the salary, want to win now, and have the type of top flight player available in their system Tampa bay would want back. The problem is that player is Rodon. IMO, if you're not willing to give up Rodon for him then the conversation ends from the White Sox's side, because the Rays don't have to move him and they ought to wait until they get that level of return for him.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 01:19 PM) He's going to end up in LF, IMO I guess since the price of trading for Longoria out of the Cubs probably would be Soler+ that might make some sense, but hard to call that an ideal matchup.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 12:10 PM) Sadly, the Cubs make a lot of sense as a trade partner for Longoria. Huh?
  18. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) Only because he was already warming up. If he has warmed up, it shouldn't be wasted. Plus there's an offday tomorrow and we already had a 4 game losing skid where he wasn't used so the back to back early season work probably a good thing
