  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Those were nothing compared to Battlefield Earth and Face-Off. Wha? That was incredible!!!
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) Boy, that'd sure be nice if I was saving money from this. Instead, my insurance premiums have gone up considerably and my deductible rose 300%. Again, individual policy or policy through an employer? Because if y'all would have let us get rid of employer-based policies, we'd have been totally ok with that. Otherwise...if it goes up 1% and an employer cuts back your benefits...that's the employer saving money for itself.
  3. Maybe he's counting games he announces in the spring?
  4. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) No its a company policy. And a good one at that. Not quite a "cadillac" but pretty close. In other words...that could also be the equivalent of a "salary cut" from the company right?
  5. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 09:48 AM) Mine has increased 10+% each of the last two years.. And I have 5% co-insurance now that i never had before... Is that a personal, individual policy or are you also adding in "shifting costs from employers"?
  6. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) "Wrecking s***" as in dominating. Ah, I read that as "This trailer has somehow wrecked the Marvel movies". So yeah, I was kinda lost.
  7. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 05:03 PM) In Government speak, sure. Hey we only raised you taxes 6% this year instead of 8%, so we cut your taxes by 2%!!!!! They touted this whole program as a cost cutting move. Not a rate increase cutting move.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) After watching this, my response to Caulfields above post is WHO CARES ABOUT THE SPORTS MOVIE GENRE DISNEY IS WRECKING s*** EVERYWHERE ELSE ?
  9. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 04:49 PM) That is such bulls***. ALL the talk was about how it would save people money, not slow down the rate increases. Changing from 8% growth per year to 2% growth per year = saving a ridiculous, insane, unbelievable, enormous, ungodly amount of money.
  10. And here's what this dept. is doing on their business email accounts.
  11. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 4, 2015 -> 09:32 AM) Ferguson Police Routinely Violate Rights of Blacks, Justice Dept. Finds Would you have confidence in this police force to do the right thing? Would you believe their statements?
  12. All right WTF Crean? What happened to this team when February started?
  13. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) Was it Judge Dredd where their guns could only be fired by someone with the DNA linked to the gun or something like that? Actually it's real life, they're called smart guns.Variety of ways to make it happen, could actually work. They're therefore the only type of gun the NRA despises.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 09:21 AM) Yeah, even in a fully nationalized, fully funded healthcare system, there's still going to be people with chronic mental illness who will have episodes, decide to go off of their medication, whatever. And more to the point, even if every police officer in America was a raging leftist fully in support of that sort of system, they still need to deal with the real world as it exists today. It's important for both public and officer safety to minimize these sorts of confrontations or taking actions that will likely needlessly escalate a situation. Again, don't know what happened here, but speaking generally, if the situation could have been handled differently such that their would never have even been an attempt to grab the officer's gun, everyone is safer. Also worth remembering that in countries that aren't ungodly overflowing with guns, the ordinary police on duty often don't carry guns themselves. No gun to grab at.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) I love Soxtalk. Where else do you have people freaking out over the intrasquad line ups? ARoid skipped one and it was a major story.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) I'm not sure what you want the cops to do. This guy is clearly out of control. At some point you have to control him. Talking to him didn't seem to work (and wouldn't since he's mentally gone). They tackled him and tried to cuff him but he kept fighting. They tazed him and he kept fighting. I'm not disagreeing that the shots seemed to be pretty quick based on the video alone, but if the body camera shows the guy fighting for a cops gun, what would you have them do? You're always quick to condemn in these situation and assume there's a better alternative, but you never say what the alternative would be. So what are you proposing would have been that 3rd option here? The answer has to be never to let it get to that kind of situation, which would presumably involve much better mental health care in this country rather than letting them be out on the streets.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) Don't do drugs? And if they don't and still wind up there because of things like untreated mental health issues?
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 03:48 PM) No matter what the facts, its basically never a good idea to escalate a confrontation with police. So our choices are to expect homeless people on Skid Row to behave 100% rationally or to have them occasionally shot? That's a choice that cries out "make there be a 3rd option somehow".
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) I think he misses one start and with the off days they should be covered. s***ty way to start the season but not that big of a deal long term. Say moderate case he's throwing long toss on march 23rd, does a bullpen session say on the 26th, and then makes two starts in extended spring ball he should be ready to go around April 8th. Of course, if the foot doesn't heal as expected, push that back another couple weeks. But I really do think there is a chance he only misses one start. The foot isn't really broken it's more like a ligament strain from my understanding the bone "breaks" when the ligament gets pulled off the bone. I think worst case he's off the rubber for 4 weeks. Even then he should only miss a handful of starts at most. That's my general guess also, if he's out 3 weeks starting last Friday he should be throwing even earlier than the dates you give.
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) It's certainly not PSU level, but this is still SOMETHING. There's still a failure to act and a hope it would just go away. I don't like the coach saying "oh yeah i knew there were allegations that my player raped two women, but what am I to do? The AD/school were supposed to look into it and let me know. Not my responsibility!" He's Coach K. He runs that school. He could have asked at some point what the update was and from what we know so far that never happened. And it looks awfully shady when the guy was kicked off the team soon after the student newspaper started digging and asking questions. Part of the problem is that this is a very good example of how sexual assault has been treated at many major US universities. Don't treat it as a crime, don't get the police involved, hope it blows over and goes away. It's a good example IMO of why this has become an issue in the last few years at a number of universities.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) Why did Thibs have him in the game? What kind of question is this? The Bulls shouldn't play the guys they have? I can't even guess what this is supposed to mean.
  22. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 01:49 PM) I missed the part of yesterday's game where he got hurt. How did that happen? He bumped into one of the Clippers players (maybe Jordan?) while the Clip was setting a screen. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary, nothing that hasn't happened to him a thousand times in his pro career.
  23. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Mar 2, 2015 -> 01:37 PM) I'd guess Samardzija. Anything little you can give him here or there could make a difference when it comes to free agency. I think it'll depend on how long Sale is actually out. If they just have to skip him once and then he makes the next start, they'll set their rotation as though he would be there so that he can just step in. If he's out longer, they might do something different in order to limit the outings on whoever they bring up in his place.
