  1. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) ronnie being ronnie Too much baseball going on for me to know what you're talking about?
  2. Texas takes a 3-2 lead in the 11th on a squeeze bunt that went off the guy's knee and should have been called foul.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) It matters in the sense of the fact that the guy at the front of the order gets the most at bats, and the guys right behind him you want being able to drive the first guy or two in. And Millwood's ERA in the first inning since 2010 is apparently 9.31.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 04:04 PM) I thought there have been saber studies saying the order of a lineup matters not. I just hope Lilly draws a walk to open the game or rocks a double. It matters in the sense of the fact that the guy at the front of the order gets the most at bats, and the guys right behind him you want being able to drive the first guy or two in.
  5. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 02:17 PM) FWIW, Conor Jackson is being played at RF, LF, 1B, 3B and DH in Charlotte. Hitting .232, .707 OPS on the season so far.
  6. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 09:51 AM) Its not about the 1st round matchup, its about the 2nd round. I would much, much, much rather play the Celtics than the Pacers. Let Miami get beat up by Indiana. I know Indiana's going to beat the Bulls up, but I'd also bet that the Celtics would have a much, much better chance of actually beating the Bulls.
  7. Magic # for the East = 1. And the Bulls actually have 3 straight offdays. 3 offdays! 3 days off!
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 10:25 PM) B, I swear there was posts in a thread in late January or early February where you argued that this team was a 90-loss squad with the losses of Buehrle, Quentin, Santos et al. You used WAR or some such to make your case. Am I mistaking? The Bulls were a 78 win team last year and started off with losing 8 wins by losing Buehrle, Santos, and Quentin. So, if they got nothing from Dunn, Rios, And Peavy like last year, and a couple other guys crapped out, then yeah, there we were. Have we gotten contributions from Dunn, Rios, or Peavy so far this year, yes or no?
  9. Ok, I'll admit it, I'm sitting here watching this game on ESPN and using the Stacy King Soundboard to fill in where the enthusiasm should be.
  10. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) aaaand of COURSE you're the one to rain on the parade. haha I'll take Humber over Niemann any day of the week. I'll take Humber over Feliz for this year (growing pains). I like Harrison, but I still maintain we have a better all around rotation than Texas You'd take Nova over Humber? Freddy Garcia? I'll take Humber over Zambrano The Nationals are the only one I'll give you. Ivan Nova won 16 games and put up an ERA of 3.70 as a 24 year old. Garcia's basically their 6th starter if they have everyone...they're missing Pineda right now, as I noted. Hughes is actually probably a bigger weakness than Nova. We might well have a better rotation than those guys, but it's certainly not an open and shut case. You might take Humber over niemann, but I'll take Matt Moore over Sale. And Feliz is in the same situation as Sale, coming out of the bullpen.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) Thanks Wizards! Bulls Magic # is 2. No news on the severity of Wade's finger althoguh he never returned.
  12. Rip Hamilton just took a swing at Nowitzki's head/upper arm. That might well be a suspension.
  13. Cubs trading OF Marlon Byrd to the Red Sox for RHP Michael Bowden and cash.
  14. Cliff Lee to the 15 day DL with a left oblique strain.
  15. just received an email from the Sox titled Humberfect.
  16. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 08:47 PM) Does any team have a better 4/5 than us? Doubtful. Pitching depth just might be our meal ticket to a magical season. Need to see Danks and Floyd step up a bit, and I'll be sold. Many positives currently, including the recent performances of our minor leaguers. The Rays (Matt Moore and Jeff Niemann, Rangers (Harrison and Feliz), Nationals and Marlins could show up there, Yankees are 7 deep if Pineda is ever healthy and Pettitte comes back
  17. Hamilton looking really effective early and even bringing the ball up & running the offense some.
  18. Pineda had his first minor league tuneup today, threw 15 pitches, felt discomfort in his shoulder, and was immediately shut down again with no return timetable.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 21, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Video of the game... http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...33&c_id=mlb 2, maybe 3 moderately hard hit balls the whole time.
  20. Dewayne Wade has left the current Heat game with some sort of injury to his non-shooting hand. Wizards up 6 on the Heat, and if Wade is out, none of the big 3 are in.
