  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) Ok, I've done my part...are you going to get yours done or what? Huh?
  2. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:53 PM) I want to have more confidence when Rios is up...I'm just not there yet. There, happy?
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:44 PM) You almost wonder if the pressure of that contract is affecting Danks this year. Normally, you could blame it on the lack of offensive support, but he just hasn't seemed quite right this year, as we're all noting. He's battling, but the results just aren't there. It's like he's fighting himself right now. That throw over to Dunn really bothered him too and got him flustered visibly. Not really, again I don't know about the early season velocity last year, but Danks has had these stretches over and over in his career, and the worst of them was to open the season last year.
  4. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) That is a major concern for sure. Dead-arm leading to overthrowing the ball, no control & too many walks or can't get the change up working right or whatever Danks has just not looked all that sharp this early in the season for a guy touted as the new staff ace. Maybe he is just putting pressure on himself? Outside of the "lack of velocity", we've seen Danks go through more than just a few stretches in his career where he didn't have a whole lot of effectiveness with his change and then couldn't put people away because of it.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) I did see that in at lest one game I was able to watch. That couple miles off can make a difference, but I think control has been a problem too Pitch F/X doesn't help as much with that, but usually...if a guy has lost 2 mph on his fastball, whatever reason he's down on that, it's going to affect his control too. Start overthrowing things, lose something in the delivery, start relying on different pitches, whatever.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) The Quinton Coples dropping to the Bears thing at 19 seems to be gaining some steam, but who knows. Seems very likely they go with best d-linemen available, whether its Coples, Poe, Brockers, Mercilus, Cox, Ingram. It also looks like they might have their choice of OL and WR too. If Floyd is there, it'd be hard for them to pass him up, and it seems pretty obvious they like Kendall Wright. Looks possible that Jonathan Martin is there too. It'll be very interesting to see how this plays out. Ideally, DL/OL/WR/TE, if you get 3 of those in the first 3 rounds, I like it. I can't see Floyd dropping that far and if he does I almost hope they'd trade down a couple spots because someone else ought to need him more than the Bears. I think the Bears are at the point where their main priority has to be their D-Line.
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:28 PM) Well at least the bullpen is rested, get us a lead and don't be afraid to use it! If Danks isn't hurt, then he needs to be thrown for 100+ pitches. Whatever it is that has his velocity down, I doubt he's going to recover that unless he gets some work in.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:27 PM) Dead-arm? This early in the season. What is it his third or forth start? So far this season, his average fastball is at 89.8, down from 91.6 the last 2 years.
  9. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) Danks WTF That's probably Dunn missing a sign.
  10. The NYT ran a big piece today on a seemingly fairly major international bribery scandal involving the now-CEO of Walmart.
  11. Nice swing Brent. Did not like that Fukudome slide.
  12. If Konerko's going to GIDP, that's when I don't mind it. Damage already Dunn that inning, only Dunn sitting at 1b.
  13. Axelrod's ERA down to 1.08, went 7.2 innings, 1 BB, 4 hits, 6 K's. Bruney gets his 4th save. Kuhn, D2, and Gallagher with 2 hit days. Danks with a double in there, Gallagher with a triple.
