  1. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 05:15 PM) This guy is flying by. C'mon Gavin, I need you to zero in this inning. That curveball is workin' it.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) Shades of Carlos Quentin there with D. Young. Payback there for Young from his days with the Twins? That's payback for the fact that Young keeps leaning into pitches. Floyd decided that if Young was going to get hit, it was going to hurt.
  3. QUOTE (sunofgold @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 05:03 PM) Dang the Tiggs pitcher has only thrown 30 pitches through 3 innings, Floyd has thrown 50. But we lead 1-0. Hope that we hit some more home runs today. Floyd has to keep putting up zeroes and get stronger as the game goes along. If we keep making contact against this kid, we're going to get more than just the 1.
  4. Herniated disk in his back for Dwight Howard, will rest for 10-14 days and reevaluate. Playoffs start in 14 days. Magic are 3 games ahead of the 76ers and Knicks for the 7-8 spots and 5 games ahead of Milwaukee for the 9 spot with 7 to play.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) i love a strike 'em out throw 'em out I don't, it was usually happening to the Sox.

    Car Help Thread

Are you really aggressive on the accelerator/brake? Are you driving a lot in a downtown area where you're stuck at a ton of stoplights, accelerating, and decelerating a lot? A lot of engines do take time to work themselves "into shape" if you will, moving parts adjusting to each other with time and getting small bits of production residue/metal out of the way, so that could play into it too, but if you're burning through a full gallon of gas in 18 miles, I'd guess driving style or number of stoplights plays into it. At worst, if I was driving around in Downtown Pasadena for groceries only with my Civic, no highway driving, I'd wind up around 20-23 miles per gallon because there were so many stoplights, and it's rated at ~40.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) Maybe they need Alex Rios, haha. I wouldn't be surprised if they wound up grabbing Podsednik from the Phillies.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 04:52 PM) Wilk's change-up has been awful so far today. Lexi agrees. Has he thrown many others?
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) Like Buehrle...? The thing that makes Mark! special is that everything he throws has movement on it and he mixes it up very well. Haven't seen enough of this guy yet.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Way to be patient guys...Wilk's thrown like 8 pitches so far. According to the announcers, the scouting report is that this guy is going to throw strikes.
  11. Wow, great announcing Stoney. Predicted the pitch and result exactly.
  12. Vin Scully narrating a commercial for Jackie Robinson day, listing ballplayers by name and saying "Before...." leading up to Jackie. One of them is "Before Frank".
  13. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 03:47 PM) Ah, very nice to know. Even thou I don't subscribe to the Extra Innings package - they still display the listings. So for future reference I now know that looking at the listings on TV will shed light onto Saturday day games availability on MLB.tv. Maybe this thread helps clear things up for others too. Thanks Balta. Yeah, that'll work. If you check, the Yankee/Angel game that is on right now doesn't have a slot on there, the White Sox do. WCIU games never get channel space on there, but the visiting broacast will show up. If you've got DirecTV, you can flip there and check. Yay, I was useful for something!
  14. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 14, 2012 -> 03:35 PM) Hey Balta, How do you check to see if the game "has a slot on Extra innings"? Thanks, -T Well, personally I have MLB Extra Innings on DirecTV, so I can go to channels 721-740 and see if the game is on there. If Fox has a game exclusively, it never gets a channel there. I'm far enough away that I don't have to worry about any local blackout rules, which is the other issue for some teams.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 03:44 PM) Ellsbury just slid into second. Now in pain holding right shoulder. Ellsbury to the DL, separated shoulder, could be out 2+ months, not decided yet whether or not surgery is necessary.
