WHAT THE HELL? WHITE SOX WINNER? RIOS WALK OFF SLAM?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I really believe he's not going anywhere. I just can't imagine waking up in November or December and seeing the headline, "White Sox fire Ozzie Guillen." I just can't see it. Really ought to happen in October.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Just checking the game summary and have to wonder what did Stewart do wrong in that 2nd inning? Gets the first two outs on strike outs and then allows three runs I tuned in for that inning alone, pretty much. He got ahead of the guys who got hits as well, but they started punching the ball past people. Chisenhall had a broken bat single that feel in front of De Aza, then there was a grounder punched past Alexei, another hit thrown in there (I think almost all of these happened with 2 strikes), and then he hung a breaking ball out over the plate with 2 strikes for a big 2 run double. He made one bad mistake, but had some trouble putting guys away before that.

The environment thread
NYT with front page space about how weak the agency that regulates fuel pipelines is. The latter part of the article suggests some common-sense regulations...requiring automatic shutoff valves and leak detectors that could work together to dramatically cut the size of spills when they happen. Of course...that would somehow be a terrible thing for business.

And that score happened just in enough time for me to flip over and see another TD by the Bills.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Then I'm wrong. I've been wrong before. This new Sox trend of blaming the manager not the player, though, is boring and troubling. I guess the Cubs blame their manager for years now for playing Soriano and not just benching him. And all the fans of players who suck blame the manager for playing them. I'd prefer to blame the fat ass player. I think Cub fans were furious that Colvin was sitting on the bench and Fukudome and Soriano were playing the whole year last year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) Please Ozzie go to Florida. I so badly want to see the new manager get fried for decisions like playing Adam Dunn who makes more money than the entire budget of many countries. Many countries? There is no country in the world with a total $12 million government spending. Smallest I could find are in the range of $60-100 million.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I've noticed an amazing trend shifting to blaming Ozzie for playing him WAY MORE than the big lug sucking. Because the big lug should not be seeing the field any more.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) So here's the future of this board. Every f***ing time Dunn makes a whiff next season we're going to have to read criticism of Ozzie, not Dunn. Amazing and awful. As always, you continue to pretend that we didn't spend 4 months criticizing Dunn.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) You really think any team in baseball just won't use Dunn n Rios anymore when they are making that kind of jack? If they legitimately wanted to make the playoffs...yeah, those guys would have become platoon players and then moved towards the bench by mid-season.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) That offspeed pitch hangs just far too often. He needs to sharpen it up no doubt, but it's close. Moves well, just was a bit too high.

9/11/11 GT: Sox vs Cle - 1:10pm CDT CSN
Couple weak hits where the defense isnt', followed by a legitimate mistake on a breaking ball, gives the Tribe a 3-0 lead. Stewart is getting ahead of these guys but they're pushing the balls just past the fielders.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) Bears look good... Always gotta remember after halftime our running game becomes pretty effective; combine that with Cutler and the Bears will hopefully hang onto this one This is right where you want that Bears defense to be...where one big play can kill a team. Because the defense starts drooling when the pressure is on the other team.
