  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Cam Newton going bonkers. 9/12, 198, 2 TD in the first half (both to Steve Smith).
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I really believe he's not going anywhere. I just can't imagine waking up in November or December and seeing the headline, "White Sox fire Ozzie Guillen." I just can't see it. Really ought to happen in October.
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 05:11 PM) Meh.. nothing new. Their ST has been terrible for like 2 years now. That was kinda my point.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) NFC North 3, NFC South 0 I was counting "Weekends"
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) Well, a very good first 0:15. By the way...say hi to the 2011 Chargers Special Teams.
  6. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) atleast the Bucs are still tied for first place.... NFC North 1, NFC South 0.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:11 PM) Am I wrong is saying that that has been a problem for a number of Sox pitchers this year? Maybe it's the learning curve though Which part?
  8. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) Bears looked really tough today... Time to see how my Vikings will piss away this season. Well, a very good first 0:15.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) How long before Verlander is traded? Last couple AL Central Cy Young Winners Johan Santana C.C. Sabathia Cliff Lee Zack Greinke A long, long time.
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Just checking the game summary and have to wonder what did Stewart do wrong in that 2nd inning? Gets the first two outs on strike outs and then allows three runs I tuned in for that inning alone, pretty much. He got ahead of the guys who got hits as well, but they started punching the ball past people. Chisenhall had a broken bat single that feel in front of De Aza, then there was a grounder punched past Alexei, another hit thrown in there (I think almost all of these happened with 2 strikes), and then he hung a breaking ball out over the plate with 2 strikes for a big 2 run double. He made one bad mistake, but had some trouble putting guys away before that.
  11. Groin injury for Roy Williams, his day is done.
  12. Tampa Bay has lost Freeman though.
  13. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Scoreboard watching: Lions beating the Bucs. 3 TD passes for STafford, 2 to Johnson.
  14. NYT with front page space about how weak the agency that regulates fuel pipelines is. The latter part of the article suggests some common-sense regulations...requiring automatic shutoff valves and leak detectors that could work together to dramatically cut the size of spills when they happen. Of course...that would somehow be a terrible thing for business.
  15. And that score happened just in enough time for me to flip over and see another TD by the Bills.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:03 PM) Then I'm wrong. I've been wrong before. This new Sox trend of blaming the manager not the player, though, is boring and troubling. I guess the Cubs blame their manager for years now for playing Soriano and not just benching him. And all the fans of players who suck blame the manager for playing them. I'd prefer to blame the fat ass player. I think Cub fans were furious that Colvin was sitting on the bench and Fukudome and Soriano were playing the whole year last year.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Great run by Forte. Devin Hester with an equally good run.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) Please Ozzie go to Florida. I so badly want to see the new manager get fried for decisions like playing Adam Dunn who makes more money than the entire budget of many countries. Many countries? There is no country in the world with a total $12 million government spending. Smallest I could find are in the range of $60-100 million.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I've noticed an amazing trend shifting to blaming Ozzie for playing him WAY MORE than the big lug sucking. Because the big lug should not be seeing the field any more.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) So here's the future of this board. Every f***ing time Dunn makes a whiff next season we're going to have to read criticism of Ozzie, not Dunn. Amazing and awful. As always, you continue to pretend that we didn't spend 4 months criticizing Dunn.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) You really think any team in baseball just won't use Dunn n Rios anymore when they are making that kind of jack? If they legitimately wanted to make the playoffs...yeah, those guys would have become platoon players and then moved towards the bench by mid-season.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) That offspeed pitch hangs just far too often. He needs to sharpen it up no doubt, but it's close. Moves well, just was a bit too high.
  23. Couple weak hits where the defense isnt', followed by a legitimate mistake on a breaking ball, gives the Tribe a 3-0 lead. Stewart is getting ahead of these guys but they're pushing the balls just past the fielders.
  24. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 11, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) Bears look good... Always gotta remember after halftime our running game becomes pretty effective; combine that with Cutler and the Bears will hopefully hang onto this one This is right where you want that Bears defense to be...where one big play can kill a team. Because the defense starts drooling when the pressure is on the other team.
