Anyone who wonders if Sale can throw an effective 3rd pitch just saw it.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 04:33 PM) Ozzie going with the matchups today. Serg didn't have s***. Will Sale have anything? Or walkoff coming? Beware first pitch walkoff bomb. Ha.

Sale getting up.

"The dreaded leadoff walk. But there is one out!" -HH.

QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 04:25 PM) Also, watch how fast players start blaming the guy who is let go. With the number of guys who have left this org and ripped them over the past 10 years? I'd expect that the floodgates would open if Ozzie was traded.

Rough day for Paulie.

Heckler trying to get our guys to strike out by chanting "What would adam dunn do!?"

Gosh, I just now realized once the pitching coach came out how many fewer times their catcher goes to the mound when it isn't mauer.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) It will be four year deal. Why wouldn't it be? Because it doesn't need to be? Florida is generally cheap anyway, and Ozzie is not exactly going to have a lot of negotiating strength.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 04:00 PM) Finally!! Someone says it. I have been talking about this all year and haven't had any response to it. It's happened with BOTH Dunn and Rios (although much more with Dunn). I've never seen that out of any major league player ever throughout a whole year where they don't even know where the ball is when they make contact. It's like he's closing his eyes on the swing and has absolutely NO feel of where he's connecting on the bat. Rios has turned his whole body to face 3b by the time his swing finishes. That's why Rios doesn't know where the ball is going.

A bad start 2 years in a row by different players might also be an indictment of the team's Spring Training and offseason coaching and preparation.

Hey, Dunn has put the ball in play twice!1

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) I was afarid the league had caught up wioth Humber, or he had a dead arm, but today he is showing why he should be in the rotation next year He probably did have a dead arm. He's now at 137.1 major league innings on the year, when he's done 140 in each of the last couple seasons but mostly in the minors.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Glad to see Phil pitching well today. Hope he makes some paper next year from someone. He's pitched well for the great majority of the year. Huh? He's still pre-arb. The White Sox can simply renew his contract.

6 IP, 5 K's, 4 hits, only a handful of balls hit hard off of Philip, 0 ER.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) If the top tier payers don't have any of THEIR deductions, they may still end up paying more, even if it is at a lower rate. Eliminate Buffet and his 'I pay less than my secretary' type of people, because they won't need to hire an army of accountants to hide and shelter all their money, they will pay regardless. Not if you slash their rate from 35 to 23%.

There have been very few details from both sides, but it has been stated today by the MDA that Jerry Lewis "Retired".

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) You don't think he'll make more than he did here?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) You ever think it's cause Ozzie's too predictable with sending his runners with two outs? On the first pitch as always.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) What's wrong with laughing at these losers? He has it made. Will get a 4-5 year deal in Florida for a lot of loot. Somebody else can coach these plodding losers. "A lot of loot" from Florida?

De Aza was out by a mile on that CS.

QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) If it does happen, it won't be Hahn as GM. Why not? Can't just say that without backing it up.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) Gameday. Did he get hit again or catch a liner right at him? One hopper bounced off his thigh.

Another good opening for an outing by Philip...can he keep it up through 6 now.

Philip Humber has a target on his back.
