Dunn on Bench: 3 Hits, 1 Run
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) What's funny was Hawk saying the other day that Morel was ahead of Crede at the same stages of their careers. Big market teams don't have time to wait on a prospect like Morel, who one day may be servicable, but doesn't have upside much more than that. Which is why the Yankees traded away Brett Gardner and all those catchers. Because they didn't have time to wait on them.

Dunn on Bench: 3 Hits, 1 Run
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 02:46 PM) There's struggling and being the equivalent to an NL pitcher. Beckham has regressed every which way from 2009. And he's not 21. He'll be 25 come September. Morel has been putrid. Not just bad. Brian Anderson bad. I assume you're ready to give me a lecture about how the Royals never should have drafted Moustakas and he's a total waste? He's on the Royals and he can't even hold down their starting 3b job. Or how stupid the Blue Jays were to trade for Kyle Drabek? I mean Drabek has a WHIP of 1.78. He's putrid. Not just bad, Brian Anderson is a better pitcher than him.

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) Just a quick question (if it can be even answered quick). Why are teams jumping conferences like this? Is it strictly a $$$ issue? Texas has suddenly taken over the whole Big 12, by having their own deal with ESPN (IIRC) and starting their own "longhorn network". A&M is staring at being the baby university in the state of Texas. Instead, if they can hop over to the SEC, they can bring teams like Bama, Florida, etc., into their stadium and maybe even have some conference strength bragging rights. The SEC gets the market access, both Houston and Dallas while they're at it, the Aggies get out of Texas's shadow.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 13, 2011 -> 01:58 PM) I think it's downright criminal the pass guys like Beckham and Morel have gotten around here. Who cares that they don't make any money. They play every day and have been atrocities offensively. I think it's downright criminal that the same person can be as prospect/draft obsessed as you are and then simultaneously totally unwilling to have young guys who struggle.

Sox vs. Royals
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) A guy with stuff that looks solid and consistent, but not overwhelming. Kind of like Stewart. If they give you 200 innings, that's 2-3 in my book.

Sox vs. Royals
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) He looks like a consistent 4th starter for me. Which I think is a fine return for what we gave up. Valverde is never going to blow a save again. Missed losing it by about 5 feet tonight, too. What do you consider a 4th starter? As a sinkerballer with offspeed stuff and a legit four seam backup, he could easily give an era in the low 4s, maybe 3s.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) How did he look tonight? I missed the first, but he got some real good action out of that slider today in the middle innings.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) At least he's getting an accurate preview of what pitching a good game for us is normally like in terms of run support. His punishment is sure to be a bullpen trip.

Sox vs. Royals
So yeah, this is still a really good outing by Stewart.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:40 PM) Alexei pull hook. Quentin swinging out of his ass. Konerko the only one with the correct approach. And no AJ, doubt that Tyler Flowers will actually get a hit unless he gets lucky with his "slider speed" bat and runs in to a ball on the inside half. Why are we going after Flowers now? He's barely played since coming up and he's hit when he's had a chance.

Sox vs. Royals
Flowers is in. AJ must be hurting.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) Walker does a great job if teaching these guys how to hit lefties. Nothing like having a team with no power and no speed Thats why you called a high scoring game, right?

QUOTE (Wanne @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) seriously....at some point you need to sit his ass. September, it'll happen more if Kuhn gets called up.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) No Dunn tonight! I have a feeling it's going to be a very high scoring game. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 12, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) Please no more Omar. We can't win a division playing Rios. Just sucks that Oz won't play DeAza. Will Gordon and Hosner go deep off Zach tonight? Fathom is right. This screams KC 11, Sox 5 Well. Maybe the second half of the game will produce these runs.
