  1. Holy crap the contact play worked for an out for us!
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:19 PM) A nice pass by Rios. Good to see. He's at least been a normal hitter lately.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) AJ calling a pretty solid game so far. Perfect pitch selection to get Ramos. Now let's get some runs, PLEASE? About 60 pitches through 4 innings is progress for Edwin. He's got control of stuff so far today.
  4. Both teams keep getting close but no clutch hits.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) That would be funny as hell. Reality show pitch?
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) I'd assume that as a past offender, he'd be subject to regular testing. That was in the minor league program though. The tests there don't count against the major league program as far as I know.
  7. I don't know if that was a great pitch, great pitch call, or terrible swing by Werth.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) I'm getting the best deal I can. Period. The last 2 years I've nailed both half price Monday and fireworks.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:30 PM) How can there be an answer to a hypothetical situation that's absolute? Before the season, would anyone have predicted 84-88 games would win the AL Central with how Minnesota and Chicago looked? Beat the Twins, beat the Tigers, defend the home field advantage and play .500 on the road. Anything above .575 would be good. I think a number of people predicted it would take less than 90 wins to win the central.
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) You know, Harold Baines had some of his better offensive numbers in his late 30's very early 40s. Spent some time in Oakland......................... Just saying. And what about Carlton Fisk? Thanks to Mr.'s Selig and others...can you honestly say with 100% confidence that you can rule them out?
  11. Found this interesting
  12. If nothing else he does know the ballpark.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) SCOTTIE BACK-TRACK More at this superduper link. Never shoulda said it in the first place scottie, and once you did the backtrack shoulda come a lot sooner.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) I'm interested to see if there is movement or the whole league shuts down now. Link
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 05:00 PM) What was the attendance for the Cubs games 36,005 35,155 35,403 As with everything in baseball, B-R hosts those #'s too.
  16. He thinks so.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) And in a fairly short amount of time. Something like six weeks or so. It's be more fun to do it all at once though. How about starting next weekend?
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) I'm not sure how much of it is climbing and how much of it was the Indians going 4-14 and falling back to the pack. Probably a little of both. I think Minnesota going from 16 GB to 6-7 game back is a better definition of climbing. Going from 11 under to 3 under is climbing.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:50 PM) bmags was talking about employers dumping already-insured employees into the exchanges. There's no reason to believe the general ESI group is more expensive than any other group. If anything, it's probably the cheapest. Which is why 2k5 always focuses on the fact that the PPACA would provide health care access to "The most expensive group". The most expensive group is people with pre-existing conditions. One large subset of that group, people whose preexisting condition is "being old" is covered by Medicare. The remaining people with preexisting conditions are too expensive/too time consuming/too much trouble to deal with.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) I'm interested to see if there is movement or the whole league shuts down now. This was it. This league is now shutting down until there's a CBA.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) You're adding people from the workforce in general, not the elderly. It's not the elderly he's concerned about...it's the people who aren't elderly (and thus aren't currently covered by Medicare) but which no insurance company wants any part of...the people who are actually sick and need treatment for things. The elderly are covered by Medicare so there's no "Swamping the systems" or big cost increases associated with starting to insure them because they're already in the system and insured. That's why I went hard on him there. If you're worried about swamping the system because treating sick people takes resources, or making things more expensive because it will cost money to treat sick people, then anything that is done which would provide that group health care is a bad thing.
