QUOTE (flavum @ May 17, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Viciedo walked again. Yay
  9. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) And Bubba's behavior "now" is totally irrelevant. He was unzipping with regularity while "defending" marriage in 1996. And that was equally B.S. with Arnold's protection of marriage. Glad we agree.
  10. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:46 PM) Danks would be 6-0 on the Yankees, his future team. There's no guarantee that D1 winds up with the Yankees. Not given the other names on the market after 2012.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) it appears i killed this thread. Well, since it is a deficit thread and no one has posted it yet, here's the graph.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:39 PM) f*** man, whatever. There is obviously not going to be any meaningful discussion here. You keep right on waiting patiently and making no necessary changes. Let me put it this way...I generally think Milkman is way too over the edge and generally disagree with him, and when a person says "There's still lots of time left"...it puts me on Milkman's side.
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:38 PM) We have seen a lot of things (good and bad) happen after the all-star break. I think we still can turn this ship around You can't hold onto a team that's 10 games below .500 in June on the hopes that it'll recover after the AS break...not with the level of money that's been committed here.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:35 PM) Do you really think Ozzie Guillen is the problem? Or are you just making an observation/comment about the power a GM should have? The latter. A GM who doesn't have the right to fire a coach ought to resign, because he's not a GM any more.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:34 PM) We just might be digging ourselves out of the hole in a month or two or three. There is stil plenty of baseball left and we have talent. They just need to put things together. The point is there is time. You are in it for the long haul not looking to change your whole team every week because they lose some games. Saying that a couple weeks ago might have been more accurate. The 6-3 road trip bought you a reprieve...but if this team can't figure out how to play at the Cell they might very well undo that the next couple days. My deadline was "Memorial day". We're 8 games below .500 right now. 8 games below .500 on Memorial day is just about "Blow it all up" time.
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) I've already mentioned this, but Kenny Williams does not have the power to fire Ozzie Guillen. It's a major problem. I think I've said this before as well...but if that's true, then KW needs to hand in his resignation letter.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:30 PM) But you know what we should do? Just stick with the status quo for another month or two. That ought to get us right out of the hole that we've dug ourselves. If you want this to be the end of the Ozzie Guillen era, that's exactly what should be done.
  18. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:26 PM) Viciedo is learning to play the OF. This is a fill in measure until Teahan is back healthy. Question is when we send McPherson down do we lose him like we did Gray? We do not need to call up Viciedo yet and if we did and he made some boo-boos in the OF costing us a game I am sure we would be screaming about that too Then expect extra screaming the next time Pierre makes one.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:09 PM) The next ST gathering should be in Vegas, following the Bulls and Sox winning championships. Steve might just die at Tao Beach or Rehab. I'm in.
  20. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 17, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) Which Elliot Spitzer sponsored in New York. But which Bill Clinton similarly opposed by signing the Defense of Marriage Act as president. None of that makes the broad, party pot shot any more fair. Philandering is personal, not political. Plenty of examples on both sides of the aisle. And Bill Clinton has stepped up to now support marriage equality in NY. You don't find there to be any disconnect between "protecting traditional marriage" or whatever excuse was given and having a child out of wedlock?
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 17, 2011 -> 05:54 PM) Exactly. But why hasn't KW done this already? Is he afraid of upsetting Ozzie or does he actually believe Pierre will turn around too? He did that last year. But Viciedo sat on the bench.
