QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:38 PM) If you want it, google it. She has been around here forever. Item 4 on the Google.

Osama Bin Laden Dead
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) She is ferociously anti-military. It meant exactly what it sounded like. I'll await your additional evidence/statements from her backing that up, because that's a very vague statement to go off of.

Osama Bin Laden Dead
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Christianity has nothing to do with calling our soldiers murders. But it might well have as much to do with calling our soldiers murderers as that statement.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) Thank the lord. So, among the GOP field, who do the most vapid vote for now? Is Tom Tancredo running again? He was last seen running for the Colorado governorship under the flag of the Constitution party.

Omar Vizquel
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) This is my concern. I'd like to see him on a semi-regular basis, but how many days a week can he play before it's too many? Unlike Andrew Jones, I can't say I have any idea.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 12:54 PM) Morel is already losing the job. It isn't much of a leap to think Omar will take it. Which of course, is our standard method of prospect development. 75 at bats or so is all the chance to adapt to the league that you get.

Every time he's in there he makes something good happen. Question is, how much can you get out of a 44 year old body?

Sergio Santos
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) I figured it was coming yesterday on the last day of the road trip. He was definitely off yesterday with his control on his offspeed stuff, but he punched through it.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (bmags @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) Lebron and Wade's basketball IQs are really high. But it comes down to what balta just said. If lebron is going to beat the bulls, I want it to be because he got hot shooting contesting jumpers. As long as he's not getting wide open looks, it's not a high pct. shot for him. The bulls played great, but the heat will make some adjustments. The bulls just have to keep their home court. The Heat actually did a number of things well. They shot 47% thanks to Bosh having a good game, which is not likely to resume. They were %age. What they didn't do well was taking care of the boards, which they're simply not likely to do for the whole series. Otherwise, they need the Bulls to make mistakes. If the Bulls turn the ball over or commit stupid fouls, that is how the Heat starts to beat people.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 16, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) It is true though. If LeBron is on, there isn't much Deng could have done. But there's a way to keep Lebron from being on. If you turn Lebron into a jumpshooter, he's not great any more. He's great when he gets to use his athleticism to drive into the lane, or when he can generate steals and get out into the open court, or when he's given wide open looks. Since he never developed a postup game, if you don't turn the ball over and you keep people in front of him so that the penetration is slowed down, you've got him. When people started catching up to #23, that's when he developed that fadeaway shot.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:56 AM) Broadcast on TNT brought something up today that confirmed a thought I had before the game...but in all of the games the Bulls have played against the Heat this year, they made all their runs to either get back into the game or take a lead in the 3rd quarter. Seems like there's a lot of adjustments going on in the Bulls' locker room at half-time while the Heat change nothing. There's more than that though...a team like the Heat can run on adrenaline and athleticism against a clamping down defense like the Bulls, but the Bulls are so deep, throwing so many different looks at a team like the Heat that their one-trick game starts to slow down.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ May 16, 2011 -> 12:06 AM) Have to love our humility. Deng just shut down one of the best players in the NBA (if not one of the best stat sheet fillers of all time), and he has the intelligence to say "I didn't do anything. He just had an off night." And of course Derrick is always very humble. Hard not to love this team. I loved it in the press conference where Thibs literally said "we had a good game, we've got some things we need to tighten up". You think if Spoelstra won by 20 he'd be talking about things the heat need to tighten up?

Someone find Pierre and fire him out a torpedo tube.

More hits than Cahill has given up in any start this season. Lexi was ripping him. Nice start for M-56 as well, even if the bullpen made it look worse.

So, who had 6-3 for the trip?

A 6-3 road trip? Y-es.

Now Santos gets to face the righty, watch him get more comfortable. They'd be better off pinch hitting Sweeney.
