QUOTE (High Mileage @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) Calling for guys to be traded and fired, it's pretty early for that. The season is already a whole 0.09% over, uh oh... 0.09% of the season is about 1.3 outs into the first game.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:30 PM) I would say goodbye to MB, CQ and AJ. Sign Danks longterm and IF EJ will not sign trade him to highest bidder at trade deadline and make them eat a contract like Teahan as part of the deal. How many teams are going to take on both Jackson and Teahen's contract at the deadline?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Cleveland poised to be 11-4. White Sox in 2005, Tigers in 2006, Indians in 2007, White Sox in 2008....a lot of times in the ALCD, the teams that weren't predicted break through when it's not the Twins. The Royals were leading most of the way in 2003, until early August. That's because for the last decade all you have to do is pick the Twins.

QUOTE (Real @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) lol at people saying we had one of the best rotations in the AL With no Jake Peavy we currently have given up a .638 OPS from our starters, good for #5 in the AL. ERA is also #5 in the AL.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) We've got Floyd, who's more like a #4 who occasionally pitches like a 1/2 but not consistently...who knows long-term with Peavy, and Sale. This data is a couple years old but the point is still right on. Floyd's ERA since coming to Chicago is 4.13, which puts him squarely as an above average #3.

In your "Hospitals and jails" part, you forgot to add "funerals of the people their cars ran into".

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
At least you've come around to the perspective that we got into this thing with no exit strategy and no plan for winning it.

The Republican Thread
I still stand by my "Polls this far out don't matter one bit" point. That doesn't mean I can't laugh at this PPP data.

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) Right now the reports are Gaddafi is using cluster bombs, who knows if its true or not. At some point the scales are going to tip and the outside world is going to end it, but who knows how long that will take. In other words, invasion.

Technology catch-all thread
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 05:23 PM) Well if you're really into tinkering and customizing then give the EVO a try. If you just want a simple phone go with the iphone, As i currently have zero knowledge of smartphones, that seems like a reasonable suggestion.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 05:18 PM) Try an EVO out for 30 days. Sprint will refund you if you don't like it. I've hacked mine and it's ridiculously fast and fully customizable (widgets, themes/skins, live wallpapers, overclocking cpu, custom ROMs, etc). It's not me paying for it, it's the university. I have zero urge to figure out how I'd handle a refund.

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) The actual HRW report doesn't paint nearly the rosey picture that op-ed does. I'm sure it doesn't. War is ugly. That's why dragging it on for extra months by pretending to fight a war alongside a ragtag group of people with guns was a mistake. It kills a ****load of people, and the longer it goes on, the more die.

Technology catch-all thread
Well here goes. Unless someone can give me a convincing argument to go with an Evo on the Sprint network, I'm going to wind up with an iPhone within a week or two. Droid fans...please...I actually want to hear the argument the other way. Money is currently not an object, whatever I get is coming through work.

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Didn't Khaddafi explicitly state he was going to commit a massacre?
