  1. Going gay for McConaughey isn't just a cool rhyme, it's a state of mind.
  2. Every MLB trade of the last 5 years presented graphically.
  3. QUOTE (since56 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 09:18 AM) So what is the concensus? Sale, bullpen or starter? Not here for a while there now and then. Is he in the bullpen or not? It seems like "starter until Peavy comes back" is the likeliest scenario.
  4. Everyone is now required by law to do both.
  5. Holy F***, this really happened?
  6. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 08:54 AM) Now that the Greinke trade has happened, I'm sure Dayton Moore will listen to offers for Soria, I hope KW at least checks in on him. Just like with the Greinke trade, we have nothing that matches up with them. Our top 2 trade chips are Viciedo and Morel, both of whom are corner IF's, and they're jammed up completely at corner IF. By the trade deadline, Mitchell and Sale could become reasonable options, and those guys might interest them more, but Sale won't be dealt as a PTBNL and no one's dealing for Mitchell until they see that he's back to his pre-injury form.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) What does this even mean? I got it after a second. 1. AHB's preacher said something silly and was commented on it for it. 2. Barack Obama's old preacher's sermon is immediately relevant. 3. Quote one of the funny sounding lines from Barack Obama's old preacher. 4. Socialism averted foreva!
  8. Could have been that the zebras f***ed them over.
  9. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Dec 20, 2010 -> 02:05 AM) So it looks like Paul Pierre is the PG in that Boston system with Rondo out. Dude is going off with his assist numbers. Makes fans wonder what a guy like CP3, Nash etc.. can do in that system... Some sort of unholy merger between Paul Pierce and Juan Pierre?
  10. Xenon could be a good cooking gas to prevent oxidation of the chicken.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 06:55 PM) I'd only bring him in as a LOOGY. Ozzie Guillen always uses his LOOGY's more as mop-up guys than as guys to get lefties out. Randy Williams faced more righties than lefties last year, and only 6 more lefties than righties in 2009. Threets faced 27 righties and 14 lefties before he got hurt. Boone Logan in 2008 faced 110 lefties and 87 righties.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 06:50 PM) Why are the Jets throwing? Because Thomas Jones is a chief.
  13. Well, that's efficient.
  14. A 6-8 team will lead the NFC West at the end of the day.
  15. I think Brandon Roy's knees are shot but he'd still be an upgrade from Bogans.
  16. Very possibly my best cannibalism reference so far in this thread.
  17. Truthful.
  18. Really don't think i'd gain that much intellect from eating that brain.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 05:04 PM) Andrus at least shows some ability to hit for average, draw a walk, and steal bases. And he's more than a year younger than Escobar. In Andrus's rookie year, he took 40 walks and struck out 77 times. In Escobar's rookie year, he took 36 walks and struck out 70 times. On the stealing bases thing, Andrus last year was 32/47 in stolen bases, for a 68% clip. We'd be furious if a guy kept running at that clip. I can't say that Escobar's a great player, and yeah Andrus is a year younger, but the numbers you're trying to use to defend Andrus really don't say he's a very good player either.
  20. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) Yippee. He didn't impress me at all last year. Andrus put up a .702 OPS as a rookie and a .643 OPS last year, while Escobar put up a .614 OPS last year. I don't think either of them have numbers that look all that impressive.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) I Andrus much more than I do Escobar. Andrus definitely got upwards in the minors more rapidly, but Escobar probably put together better batting numbers overall. Higher batting average, higher OPS, at higher levels as well, and hitting the bigs at 23 isn't exactly an old guy.
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Well, I'm just going off what I know of Escobar, and from what I read from Brewers fans. They didn't seem at all concerned about losing those prospects. Secondly, if I'm trading Greinke, I want at least one absolute stud back. I don't view any of these prospects as that. Baseball America had Escobar as their #12 prospect coming into 2010.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) It wasn't a Manning. Yeah, eventually I figured it out.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 03:54 PM) Three. Hundred. Yards. FOUR. Touchdowns. So yeah, I had to take a moment and check to see which QB you were talking about. I went through the 2 mannings first, cause I knew one of them had thrown for 4.
  25. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) John Axford, LaTroy Hawkins, Todd Coffey, and Carlos Villanueva? Axford was pretty good last year, but the rest I listed were meh at best. The Brewers haven't had a good bullpen for a while. Exactly, that's been their achilles heel so long, even if they have a great starting rotation, I'm going to put them behind the Reds and Cardinals in my head until I know that they won't blow every other game in the 8th inning.
