Buehrle gets the save
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 02:51 PM) Seriously, who shoots a dog? What a f***er. I wish they had been caught. No one else read this and thought "Oh crap, Mark had a hunting accident!"?

QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) Pods is coming back? So much for the improved defense... Pods was pretty good in LF wasn't he?

Financial News
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 11, 2010 -> 02:37 AM) I'll check and ask my friend what exactly he means. This is not a slam but a serious question. Is Obama our worst president in the last 70 years?

2010-2011 NBA Thread
I don't want to call that a "Measuring stick" win, because the Lakers have struggled a bit lately, they're on the road, etc. But it's a good win to get.

Current Compromise on Tax Cuts
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) Actually, I was serious. I just think it's pretty sad that they are all buying one vote for another for another for another... and they are ALL in it because the Repubelicans are about to cede some power, too... which is pretty ironic in and of itself. So they're all buying off one another in the lame duck and tying it all together. It's incestuous. If there's no electoral penalty and there's a strong electoral reward...there ya go.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) I want him back too, so he can play 140+ games in RF like he is fully capable of. I feel the same way about Thome.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) It was the same thing as the Swisher deal - the Sox thought they had something, turned out they didn't, and they got burned. The problem is that Teahen isn't near the caliber player that Swisher is and so they can't just dump him for scraps. I'd say the real problem is that they extended him before seeing what they had.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 09:48 PM) Neither does Corey Brewer, nor CJ Watson. I feel like CJ does exactly what you'd want; a bit of scoring potential in the 8 minutes a game he'll get.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Our outfield speed would be awesome. De Aza batting 9th wouldn't make me too mad. 2nd lead off guy. Brent Morel and De Aza batting 8th and 9th makes you happy? Reminds me a bit of the Anderson/Uribe end of the order in 2006, when you might as well just write off the 2 outs. They could be a lot better...but...

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 05:51 PM) If anything, he'd be a great 4th OFer to have. I'd definitely welcome him back for another 550k. He ought to get about $3-$4 million from some team to be a part time OF/part time DH next year. If they bring back Thome, I think an ideal fit for him is Minny. Anaheim, Boston could work well also.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 05:42 PM) I kind of want him back. He could platoon with Quentin and our RF defense won't be as bad. Hard to do a platoon with 2 righties. (Yes, I know Q has hit righties better than lefties, but I'm playing the manager name card)

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 05:01 PM) I can't see Castro, but Colvin and Cashner have to be at the top of the list. The one thing the Rays really don't need right now is starting pitching though. They wouldn't even have a spot for Cashner as a starter if they traded Garza.

Now now, 2k5, this thread has been dead for days. It needed the energy boost provided by juicy, delicious fried chicken.

2010-11 MLB Offseason Catch-All
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) They have some prospects to move if they want to go that way. I gotta wonder what it would take. I'd figure Castro or Colvin have to be at the top of that list.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) The total on the Bears/NE game is down to 38.5 at some places. The over seems like the lock of the century to me. Of course, that probably means bet the under with the way I have been seeing things lately Chicago weather, 35 mph winds, that Bears defense, and the Bears O-line?
