  1. QUOTE (ptatc @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) He will be ready in time. The length of time it takes to rehab a tendon injury is well within the timeframe the team has set. Starting his throwing and getting ready for the season isn't rushing him. He will be 100% healthy. The question remains if he can pitch effectively without dropping his arm angle down too low. His shoulder angle dropped down to sidearm while his torso remained upright during the pitch where he had the injury. I have not doubt that his tendency to drop down on pitches when he is trying to fool hitters was the cause of the shoulder soreness and eventual tendon rupture. Pt, I'm trying to understand exactly where you think the injury happened here. My impression was that Peavy's mechanics were never that great, but he had survived with them for several years. This year, Cooper had him trying to improve his mechanics in the spring, and he came out and struggled. Then, he tried going back to what he was doing before, but started complaining about shoulder tightness during the couple weeks before things finally snapped. Are you saying that his injury came about due to his mechanics during the couple weeks before the injury when he was complaining about tightness, or are you saying this injury is related to his longer-term mechanics issues?
  2. You're talking about the government remember. Don't you think they have one of those specially designed "Assjet" copiers just for that purpose?
  3. Well, they do have to protect the space-time continuum.
  4. Unless I'm mistaken, people have had a lot of success ticking him off lately. As long as their product has had the remarkable ability to "not be awful".
  5. Some emotional responses do not go along with the word "Windows". All positive emotional responses, for example.
  6. Of course, that's what the "Party of no" would say.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) 11/9/10: The date the GG award officially died for me. This award needs to be motherf***ing abolished ASAP. It's become beyond despicable. It lasted for you that long? Man, if it was still alive, it spent the last 12 years or so as a zombie.
  8. Google maps caused a military invasion of Costa Rica by Nicaragua.
  9. Maybe you need some better humors.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) They'll be announced tomorrow. Alexei deserves it, but he probably won't win. Congrats to Buehrle. Derek Jeter has won the AL shortstop cuteness award Gold Glove at shortstop.
  11. QUOTE (3E8 @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) More than a 1B or DH? There is no clear replacement for either of these spots yet. And our biggest power threat from last season is a free agent. Yes, a bigger need. I could live with Viciedo filling the 1b/DH role and a cheap additional DH (or RF) signing to cover the additional spot, but I dread going into this season with something less reliable than Jenks in the closer's spot.
  12. Keep trying. That ones' not even close enough to dirty to be mildly amusing.
  13. I don't know, I think they have their uses. That whole "driving almost all development of complex organism bodies" counts.
  14. Grills + Free Range + hormone free = tops.
  15. Even more delicious when they don't live in a cage/when they aren't loaded with hormones.
  16. The most obvious need on the whole roster right now is a closer. I'm going to go big and say Soriano.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) He already isn't? Point...missed...
  18. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) D12 showing off his improved range from outside 10FT as well. OMG, the Danks family has gotten busy!
  19. Anyone know what Tex is on that makes him misspell drug names?
  20. You should try meth instead. It's a hell of a drug.
  21. We need more time to enjoy the little things. Like modem static.
  22. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 01:43 PM) Bruce Levine should be on the cubs payroll for all of the pr bs he spews. The cub will tell us that Casey Coleman and Cashner will get it done when in reality Marmol and Castro would be the starting point. Why would the Padres want Marmol? They have Heath Bell as their closer, and Marmol is only 1 year behind the Bell Curve in terms of getting to FA. They'd want bats first.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) I just can't see Boston getting outbid for AGon. Cubs have the high-end prospects to get it done, but then it would kill their payroll as well as chances of having cheap talent. Dunn is a more likely target, especially since he wants to play there. And I can't see them adding the kind of payroll it would take to get him. Then again, I've been wrong before.
  24. Until they give me my modem n oise on broadband, I'm never changing!
