  1. Oh no he has clearly said he’s trying to fight the change and is using a name with racist origins deliberately.
  2. This was before the game yesterday: Ironically of course Leury had a base running blunder yesterday after taking a walk.
  3. I know that. I take 4 important points from that data point. 1. The White Sox were not unusually banged up or snakebit by injuries in 2021. They hit key players - because the Sox are structured with tons of value in a handful of key players. 2. This season’s results will be heavily affected by injuries for everyone, and management needed to take that into account in the offseason. 3. Compared to last year, this team added veterans and the players they developed are a year older, a couple with recent major injuries or COVID infections. This increases the risk of continued minor injuries. 4. People need to stop saying “when this team is healthy” or “if healthy” like it means anything. Some guys will come back, but other injuries are guaranteed. How well set up the team is to deal with and recover from those injuries is much more important than how good an imaginary healthy team could be.
  4. I’m currently trying a brand called Copper Moon and damn it’s good stuff.
  5. Then you should tell ESPN because either they miscounted or the white Sox actually were charged with 12 errors yesterday. https://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/view/fielding/table/fielding/sort/errors/dir/asc
  6. They weren’t anywhere close to last. There are teams without any errors this year. They were in the worst 1/3, give or take, 2 days ago.
  7. Another one for this thread, White Sox now leading the league in errors.
  8. I woke up Friday morning and was surprised to find the White Sox at .500 and in second place. And leading MLB in errors for good measure. But I do like this brand of coffee.
  9. The 2021 White Sox were not swept until June against the Astros. That was also their first 4 game losing streak.
  10. Naw, they'd just find someone more amenable to TLR to put in that position. Another yes-man.
  11. ....I think your interpretation of the NBA is out of date?
  12. I could absolutely believe that's the one situation where they remove Hahn as the fall guy to keep TLR.
  13. I could absolutely believe that's a Pollock-like "he'll be out for at least a week so put him on the IL" situation.
  14. Luis Robert was pulled in the 8th inning of Thursday's game after this play. Please put any updates you see in here.
  15. Well, a strongly led team with a professional manager - this isn't going to matter, because even if they have a bad day or whatever, they're going to come in and handle themselves as professionals. Or at least they're going to try to even if it doesn't work every time.
  16. Maybe, just maybe, when all the beat writers were saying "yay this guy will help bring some energy to this team", they were saying more about the team than just the standard praise.
  17. He's apparently still not healthy from what I saw earlier this week. Still focused on getting healthy was the report.
  18. I can't say this enough - the White Sox used the IL the 5th fewest days in MLB last year. They were healthier than average. Now they have a ballclub that is veteran heavy, older than average, which should increase injury risks.
  19. Guaranteed, $10.3 and then $13.3 mllion in 2023/24, then club options for $16.5 and $18.5 million the next 2 years with a $3 million buyout each year. $26.7 million guaranteed after this year.
  20. To be fair, Robert hasn't been helping the last few games anyway.
