Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
If they actually did something like this, I am a little surprised there hasn't been any whisper of it other than me and you speculating here.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?
I don't know how it will work long term for Collins, but literally everything that was said about Collins was said about Narvaez when they traded him - "He'll never learn to catch, his framing is awful, I think there's something permanently wrong with his hand-eye coordination that he can never fix", and then with the better coaching and development staffs on other franchises Narvaez turned into a solid catcher within a couple short years.

Didn't they also say yesterday he was still having some discomfort? Someone in the game thread did say that they were worried they'd push him too hard by having him in today based on their description, IIRC.

They also specifically told us that Joe Kelly was a LaRussa thing.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
This is Tony LaRussa's longest losing streak since September of 2007.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
I am just going to enjoy the irony.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Longest losing streak since June of 2018. Lefty on the mound and they get shut out. Another 2 errors. Yeesh.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
He already has one flop named “the boring company”.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Pollock 0/12- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
I’d love to say they’re still in this but I just can’t figure out how they’re going to score.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Each team lost a 2 run HR to the wind that inning- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Pollock 0/10 since coming back. Maybe we need to do a rehab stint?- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
I get that happens and if that was the only moment where you had a worry, then it’s no big deal. But it kept going every pitch. Liam Hendriks is quite clearly the kind of guy who will try to push himself through pain, to the detriment of the team. He will yell at his back rather than admit it hurts, but that won’t actually work! Every one of us knows he’s that kind of guy too. Once you saw the awkward catch and he waved off the trainer, you say fine, but you watch the next pitch. If he winced, maybe you watch one more pitch. If he’s clearly feeling discomfort, you go out and get him whether he likes it or not because it’s for his own good and the good of the team. If he wants to yell at you so be it, you’re the manager and it’s your job to deal with that.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Ruiz was already warm. He’s not a great pitcher but he’s better than a guy trying to convince himself that he’s not having back spasms.- GAMETHREAD 4/26/22: KC Royals at ChiSox (Lynch vs Keuchel) 6:10 pm CDT
Liam Hendriks is clearly the type of guy who, if he’s in a game, will yell at an injury to go away before admitting something hurts. Unfortunately, that technique is not likely to be successful at healing one’s back very often, which is why most other teams employ a manager to take that decision out of the hand of the hyper competitive guy on the mound. - 2022 MLB catch all thread
