  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) Rios to CF, Jones to RF? Bah, if we're insisting on going with the "2 guys with an OPS of .700" lineup to rest Rios, we may as well finish resting him.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) I think you go with Thornton...helps stop the run game if Morgan/Guzman reach. 4th time against the lineup, maybe Nats have an idea of his pitch sequence? Not a chance you take Jake out after 88 pitches. Not a chance in Hell. He's in until the bases are loaded or we lose the game.
  3. 20 consecutive retired, 88 pitches through 8 for JFP.
  4. Clearly, the Obama Administration is only doing this so that when another spill happens, they'll be able to demonize another company and use that to ruin our chances at cheap, painless oil drilling by imposing an evil carbon tax.
  5. QUOTE (whtsoxfan @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) #10 in what? Batting Average? Runs scored? RBIs? ... Runs scored, the only measure of "Total offense" I care about.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:19 PM) pitchers, you mean? Yup. D1, maybe Floyd, probably Peavy, maybe Buehrle, maybe Thornton/Putz
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) I'm trying not to jinx it...but I think Gavin Floyd would be an all-star in the NL. I think we'd have 4-5 all stars in the NL.
  8. Boy, how is it possible this man could have been convinced that housing prices couldn't go down? I mean, he's so sharp and able to understand the economic situation.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) Owning a bar or pharmaceuticals and seeing Farnsworth come over? Facing the NL after a 2 month losing skid?
  10. QUOTE (drowninginflame @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) Jerry, we need a DH. K thnx Jerry, can you fix Quentin and Beckham?
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) Why is Kotsay facing a LHP? Because you touch yourself at night.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) They also had D. Lee, a roided IRod, Encarnacion, Conine, and a few others. And the #8 offense in the NL that year (out of 16 teams).
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) Toronto should laugh at that. That's about the best offer they can make.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) I don't think all that much of our hitting coach. But this abortion of an offense is on Ozzie and Kenny. Kenny placated someone's silly notion to recreate the 2003 NL Marlins offense. The only difference is instead of Miguel Cabrera we have Kotsay. This was built to fail. The Tigers offense is #9 in the AL, we're #10. The Tigers offense isn't very good either.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Going off of At Bat its from an avg of 89 to about 91/92. Gameday had him 93 last inning though.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) Farmio saying Jenks may get the day off. Maybe JP can go the entire way. He's only thrown 78 pitches through 7 and has retired 17 in a row.

I don't know how to separate the name from people I've met with that n ame.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) It would be nice to have a normal american league offense instead of having to hope that our pitchers outpitch the 2005 Sox. Even on this little run, we have had to pitch our asses off to get some wins. Our offense in 2005 was #9 in the AL, this year it's #10.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:58 PM) Oh Bert....STFU "Go circle yourself".
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) I am out. Be kind to my boy Bobby if he comes in the ninth. As long as he continues to not allow baserunners, deal.
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:54 PM) Woluld anyone consider sending Beckham down and play Omar at 2nd base and batting second while Viciedo/Teahen can take care of 3B? I think that's a great idea.
  22. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) Right now Joe Mauer and Delmon Young have identical averages at .303. In a few weeks Mauer will probably be up to .325 though. Well, it's not like there's a giant disparity in talent level there.
  23. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Thank god the Nats are pounding first pitch FBs right at our Infielders. If Peavy has the slider working, you don't want to let him get ahead of you with the fastball, he'll put you away.
  24. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) Asked if this team has money to add, Chariman said: "Yes. I also think this team might be good enough as it is." If Quentin and Beckham would ever wake up, I could believe it.
