He has walked 2, hit 1, and AJ did a GIDP on the first pitch.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) Honestly I couldn't believe how many people wanted him on the Sox in the off-season. When I saw how much money he got, I wasn't the least bit upset we didn't get him. I was one of the ones who wanted him, but I didn't imagine anyone would give him that much money. I thought he might get the kind of deal Jones got.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 10:06 PM) Yes, Ozzie, please please quit! It will cure what ails this team for a week. Hell the Sox will likely win five, six in a row like all teams do when they fire a manager. Then they will return to the piece of s*** team they have, but please quit. We need some new blood to b**** about. I think your post has inspired the Orioles to give up 3 more runs to the Red Sox.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 09:57 PM) Is the Indians line-up worse than the Sox? I'm not convinced it is. Both have one good player in it (Choo vs Rios), and then the rest are pretty awful. The Sox have 2 other guys with >10 home runs though.

HAWKS WIN! HAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP!!
Biden's there? And you can't use that as motivation to beat up on Philly?

Well, at least the Hawks are...oh, right. I think I have a couple of Iron chef episodes recorded. Maybe I should try one of those tonight.

And there's 3-1. Nice to know the Indians pitching staff still beats the crap out of us.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) D1 just seems to get himself into a nasty inning in every start lately Really, we've been telling him "pitch a shutout or take the loss" for the last 3 years. It's sorta not fair to him.
-
6/4 GT: Indians @ White Sox 7:10, CSN
D1 could really use the DP right now.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Would drafting him speak volumes negatively towards the long-term future of Flowers? IMO, yes. Phegley as well.

Hitters are stupid.
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 04:19 PM) Wow that is just incredibly pathetic. Especially when considering some of the weapons they have. Clearly, the only solution for them is to fire greg walker.

Chicago Cops/Judges
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 04:06 PM) I stood right next to a cop while he was talking to another cop about how he got pulled over once for blowing a stop sign that he "always blows" (his exact words) near his house. Once the cop that pulled him over found out he was also a cop, he shut his lights off and didn't issue a ticket. A few years ago, the police in Hobart/Merrillville IN basically wound up in a ticket-writing war with each other after a similar situation happened and the first police officer didn't let the second one off.

Financial News
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) but you make it sound like by going from 6% to 10% that employers can all pay minimum wage and no benefits to anyone. Wow, the perfect Republican world. Of course there's some hangover, but really, the increase in competition between 5% unemployment and 10% unemployment is huge. A couple percent of the unemployment is always built in, so you're going from nearly full labor force participation to massive underutilization. There's a massive shift there in employees available per position. A good chunk of that leverage you refer to is inertia...the fact that it takes some time to retrain an employee. But really, the change in the labor market between those 2 numbers is monstrous.

Financial News
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 03:56 PM) I think its that flexibility that is the biggest reason for it. Companies will still be willing to give those benefits for some people they know they want long-term, but they will use the contractors to be part of the ebb and flow segment of the work when they can. If there's 10% unemployment long-term, then he's right, because the workers that are hired will have lost all of their bargaining power; there's always someone equally qualified out there who is currently unemployed.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) Here's my question: with numbers declining everywhere on offense, does this mean anyone that put up huge numbers in the last decade was using illegal enhancers? Of course not, that's just silly.
