  1. Well, if we're trading for Tejada we clearly need to clear out some of our middle infield. I propose Getz + Beckham for Tejada.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 08:14 PM) Worldwide though, it would be Tiger Woods. The only reason this is even up for discussion is Tiger's knee injury.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 08:04 PM) The problem is that we don't have the most steady defensive team out there already, and a few of our pitchers don't pitch over mistakes well. And with 9 errors that would put him on pace for about the low thirties over a full 162 games The White Sox have made 1 error in their last 10 games IIRC.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) Fields will be benched/traded when Quentin comes back, then. Quentin coming back will be Anderson's last hurrah and we all know it.
  5. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:42 PM) How would you guys feel about trading Alexi Ramirez, Josh Fields and a prospect for Matt Cain? Depends on what you wind up meaning by "Prospect", because that trade basically winds up acting like a straight up swap Ramirez for Cain, which I'd consider...but not necessarily like, because Beckham can only play 1 spot.
  6. Just what I wanted! Another Josh Fields thread!
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) Bring him back next year, yes or no? I'd honestly rather have Dye back as our DH. I hear what you're saying...but I really like having this big Left Handed bat in the middle of our lineup. It's so much more balance. Oh, and Big Jim will have a shot at 600 by the end of next year barring injury.
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:10 PM) MT has really been getting worked out lately... When a guy's pitching as well as he is right now how can you not use him?
  9. God damnit, I have to find some way to kill Dewayne Wise. Edit, thank God, gameday lied.
  10. It's a comment on a blog so I can't vouch for the accuracy, but I'm posting it out of interest.
  11. If gavin Floyd comes out for the 8th I'll Kill Dewayne Wise.
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) Jack Hannahan couldn't hit me , if i insulted his mother and then looked him in the eye. Gavin walks him? Gameday has his fastball coming in at 86-87. He's trying to get through this inning by sheer will.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:55 PM) Nice, that's Cunningham's second hit in about 25 ABs. Great! He was due.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) White men can't jump, so Anderson wouldn't have caught that. Did that catch just cost Anderson a minor league option?
  15. QUOTE (VAfan @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) Why is Wise starting and not Anderson? Wise is worthless as a player. Anderson has finally proven he can hit respectably. This is where Ozzie drives me crazy. He plays guys he likes rather than guys who can play. SAY THAT MORE OFTEN.
  16. COMMUNISTS CAN'T HIT RIGHT HANDED PITCHING.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) AJP or Wise is going to tie this game. Credit where credit is due.
  18. I also did want to post this commentary by Robert Reich as I found it interesting.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:10 PM) Yeah let's please not start talking about ordinary criminal activity and call it terrorism... god I hate that. You don't just arbitrarily drop the "t-word" into something you don't like to make it worse, it's intellectually dishonest and a copout. Which do you consider Tiller's murder to be?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 06:01 PM) Yes it would have. Hell how many times has Chrysler gone under? How many times have different airlines gone under? How many major banks have been bailed out? The whole bankruptcy equals doom crap is union propaganda that has no basis in reality. None of the banks were allowed to enter bankruptcy, that's a terrible comparison. If it wasn't for absolutely massive government intervention and the explicit government guarantee of deposits through the FDIC then virtually every big bank in this country would have been gone last year. The airlines were also given, quite frankly, massive government handouts in the post-911 environment, at least 2 times. Basically your argument is that bankruptcy is fine for companies as long as there is a monstrous federal intervention at the same time.
