  1. Fields 2/2 with 2 solid singles to LF. That one was on a change.
  2. Landon Powell hits the 2nd pitch of the inning out as well. 4-2 A's.
  3. Crosby hits the first pitch of the inning out. 3-2 A's.
  4. Podsednik with a solid 1 out double to the warning track.
  5. QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 05:40 PM) it would be difficult to argue that either would contribute more to the big club than contreras would. You guys are missing it. If they send down Gobble, that's 1 other lefty in the Bullpen (Thornton). Who's the 2nd lefty in the bullpen? If they send down Whisler, they're holding 2 bullpen lefties already, and thus don't need to find another.
  6. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 05:44 PM) Certainly not happy, but his command has been ...questionable.. for the past few starts, even though he's been decent ERA wise What's Clayton's whip as a starter ? 1.24 coming in to this game.
  7. Leadoff single for Fields on a 95 mph fastball.
  8. 2-2 ballgame thanks to hits by 2 people hitting below .200.
  9. One way to look at their plans...who goes down when Jose comes up...Gobble or Whisler.
  10. Beckham at 3rd again tonight.
  11. Richard with the pickoff move. Maybe the solution to our stolen base woes is the 4 lefty rotation.
  12. Man, without Chipper, that Braves lineup is completely punchless.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) Agreed, I thought KW was going to go after him by offering up Poreda and others. Clearly this team is higher on Poreda than we think they are.
  14. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 04:55 PM) Hopefully we send him back down after that game. He really hasn't shown anything in Charlotte except that hitters in AAA are in AAA for a reason. Link
  15. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) BOS takes a quick 2-0 lead. Would love to pick up a game tonight. Beckett Vs. Galaragga
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) I would assume so and he and Francouer are very nice stop gaps for a while. I'm not sure who their current LF is, but when Jason Heyward is ready I don't care if you have to trade both guys and their mother, they are not taking his RF spot in a couple years. He is as can't miss as it gets. Garret Anderson is playing LF for them. Heyward and Schafer should make 2 fine additions to their OF at some point.
  17. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) Depending on the prospects Id have to give pitt the edge. The Braves aren't that far out of that division if they can get some more solid run production. Their pitching is in better shape than its been in for a while, they just haven't gotten much production from their OF, between the 4 Hr's from Francoeur, 2 HR from Anderson, and Schaffer being sent back down. They're only 4.5 back. Taking a shot at that division is usually worth it for a team like the Braves that already has a ton of talented young guys coming up
  18. I assume he takes over CF on an interim basis and then maybe moves to LF/RF once the 2 young OF's the Braves have are considered ready?
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Coop fixed him in ONE side session. He had a mechanical flaw that they saw when they scouted him and they basically fixed him in one day. I'm not sure it was role-based as much as the guy was never shown how to pitch to his style. IIRC, it was bad enough that Cooper had spotted it years before. Like KW traded for him then told Cooper "There, you've got him".
  20. See those lamps? Every one of them has security cameras on it now.
