Nice inning for Boone at least.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 31, 2008 -> 05:36 PM) Kenny better do something with this pathetic hitting offense. And I'm not talking about a speedy 2nd baseman either. I think that's the least of our problems. Outside of Quentine and Dye (sometimes) this team has zero run producers. Please get some. With the assets we have, there really isn't going to be jack squat available. Swisher's value's gone through the floor, no one's giving up anything for Anderson, Thome and Konerko are suddenly worthless. The only guys we have worth anything would be Poreda, Fields, and Broadway. You can't trade Fields until you do something with Crede, and Poreda and Broadway just might not have the value to bring in anything more than an average player right now.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) That's essentially the ball game. I think that RBI groundout by Upton was essentially the ballgame.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) Ozzie just got owned by another major league manager. Thome versus a guy who is shutting down lefties to a .195 Average. That was predictable. Righties are hitting .125 off of Al Reyes.
-
Q here or bust.
-
Thome doesn't even take the bat off his shoulder.
-
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:26 PM) Well, I complained about us not hitting with RISP yesterday. So naturally we've only had one guy reach 2nd base today. 2!

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) oh i bet they would look a lot like his career avg., .219, just a wee bit higher than when he did play every day. The only reason I say that is that when BA got some consistent at bats, back when he got in the lineup a few times against Seattle, Baltimore, and Minnesota, and the week or two beforehand, he didn't look that bad. He actually had his average up near .300 for a while.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:12 PM) i hate anderson I'll bet his numbers would look significantly better than Swisher's if he was playing every day.
-
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:03 PM) I think Swisher is movable. Thome and Konerko not so much. But it doesn't mean we have to keep running them out there if they're hitting .200. There will be some bats available. I don't think you can let this type of pitching go to waste. There may be bats available, but the only things we have that would really draw any interest from other teams would be Fields and probably Poreda, and that's not going to cut it.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) I want to cry after watching this team hit. KW needs to get to work. There really isn't much he can do at this point. The guys who aren't hitting have pretty much moved themselves in to the "Unmovable" category with their lack of hitting.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) Wake up from a nap to see we haven't scored any runs yet. Go figure. How long was that nap? 2, 3 weeks?
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:38 PM) really? about 2 weeks ago i heard that HRs were way, way down...on pace to be down like 500 from two years ago and like (which is absurd, considering thats basically 3 teams worth, which is 10%) Compared to 2 years ago I'll bet they're right. Last year, through April and May, there were 1.90 home runs per game. This year, there's 1.85 coming in to today, and that number will probably go up by like 1% today.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:32 PM) Are home run numbers down? You have to wonder if this will be the trend in a new era of baseball. Compared to April and May of 07, only slightly, actually. Through April and May of last year, AL teams averaged 48 home runs and NL teams 54. Through April and May of this year, coming in to today, AL teams averaged 54 home runs and NL teams 48.
-
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:26 PM) Well he is no Jared Weaver. Seriously though, have you guys looked at some of the numbers being put up by the pitchers in the AL this year? There are 9 guys right now with ERA's below 3. (Just in the starters)

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 31, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) oh way less than classless. I respect the right to protest and have yourself heard. BUT, I do NOT respect your right to interrupt meetings. The Obama campaign was DAMN smart to tell their people all week to keep it cool and under control, with no protests.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) give us the lead, PK. no DP!! I'd be happy if he could just get on base. With Crede and Hall coming up that gives us a fighting chance at tying it.

I'm actually looking forwards to June a bit. The Sox finally get a shot at a few of these struggling national league teams that the Cubs have been feasting on. And then they get to put the rookie league team from the north side back in its place.
-
Javy just battling today. 56 pitches through 3, only a few more than Kazmir though.
-
Somehow I think that's the ballgame.
-
Not sure i'd pitch to Upton here.
-
God it has to suck being on the mound with this team, knowing that if you do anything that lets in that first run you're liable to lose the game.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:01 PM) toby hall with a nice play.....he throws wayyy better than AJ After the shoulder disaster last year, who'd a thunk that?
-
51 pitches for Kazmir through 3. They may not be hitting him but so far they're at least making him work.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 31, 2008 -> 03:49 PM) so what's the impact of that? Was that Hill's one last shred of hope? Pretty much everyone knew roughly what was going to happen with Florida. Her "Last shred" of hope was to get the entire michigan delegation seated for her while simultaneously giving none of the uncommitted delegates to Obama, which was never going to happen.
