Anybody heard that new Thom Yorke album yet? I didn't know it existed until I saw it was #2 in sales last week in the paper this morning.

Could This Be a Solution to the Pitching Problem?
Balta1701 replied to LVSoxFan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) I agree with the idea maybe even Mccarthy and Vazquez could split games That doesn't really make sense to me. Is Vazquez going to do better starting a couple times a month and pitching out of the pen a couple times a month? Is BMac? I can't see that working. At some point, guys need to have some sort of role defined. Javy makes a start, doesn't pitch out of the bullpen because he's resting after the start for a few days, then winds up unneeded for the next week, and ends up going 12 days between starts? I doubt that would work for anyone in baseball. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) Agreed on all counts except Dye doesn't need 1 day a week off, I'd say more like a day every 10 days to 2 weeks he needs off. But anyways, your right on track and that is how the rotation SHOULD go. Hell, I'd even be willing to give Uribe a few more days off to get Cintron in at SS and let Ozuna take Gooch's spot at 2B on Gooch's off days if we're that desperate to keep everybody playing. Cintron was ungodly bad yesterday, by the way. Not really anything to do with the topic, I just wanted to point that out.

Jose, remember the 2nd half of last year? Repeat that. -

Woke up, showered, had coffee, read the LAT, ate breakfast, screwed around on PC, went out to catch bus, after several buses escorted Fiancee to yet another doctor's appointment, spent 2.5 hours sitting in a waiting room, read a Newsweek from March of 06, a Time from April of 05, went back outside, waited another hour for the bus to go back, 1.25 hour bus ride, came in to school at 3:30, began doing the work I should have been doing at 5:00 last night had the Fiancee not begged me to walk her home. We've spent like $1500 on these freaking doctors and today is the first time I think she actually saw one who knew what he was doing. Spent most of the day silently cursing the U.S. Health Care system in my head.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) No kidding? Small world. My number's 55555555555. What's yours? The only problem with it is how soon it expires. Mine's done next month and I'm still waiting on the new card. When does yours expire? I started off with a Citibank regular mastercard when I started college, they started me on the "it expires every year" program at first. Usually I'd get mine a few weeks before it expired when I was still new. After a few years they started pushing the dates back, I've had it for something like 7-8 years now, and this one doesn't expire until 08.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Depends what you use it for. I use the Citibank card with 5% back on gas + groceries, 1% on everything else, which is a great deal for me. I don't think there are any introductory offers, though. (Maybe an APR thing, they all offer that, but that wouldn't really help you.) I have the same Card. Citibank Diamond Preferred Rewards card. When I signed up, I got an introductory offer of 10,000 points, which = a clean $100 for signing up, on top of those rebates you mention. They will try to offer you those credit protector programs though...every card I've used has tried to offer me them (hmm, you think they're making some money on those?)

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) Oh come on. First off, are there really people so cheap they would give less than a nickel to a charitable company? One could argue they'll start getting coins of larger value because the guy who normally gives 3 cents will now be inclined to give 5. Working in a liquor store for quite sometime, I can not tell you the abuse I have witnessed of our take-a-penny-leave-a-penny jar. Get rid of the damn things already. I'm not talking about a "take a penny leave a penny" jar. I'm talking about the things say at McDonalds, the small slots that are in front of cash registers, where people only leave pennies, not take them. You'd quite literally be putting the Ronald McDonald House out of business. The Salvation army bell ringers would take a huge hit also. People give them pennies because they don't want them piling up.

Anyone thinking we won't make a move at all?

QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) John Kruk said that The White Sox would probably trade McCarthy for Gordon.. He makes no sense.. Maybe if they threw in Ryan Howard. And that's not Sarcasm. And I don't care where he'd play, we could deal him off to Tampa or some place like that. -
Ozzie needs to adjust his management of pitchers
Balta1701 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 06:56 PM) Everybody thinks we need bullpen help and a CF, it's a fun myth, just like Ozzieball was a fun myth last year. This team's sole problem is starting pitching, and is why I'm so insistent on Javy having to go, since he is the weakest link with a long history of being a mental midget. Bullpen help allows us to move BMac into the rotation. -

Rep James Langevin, on why he voted to Override the veto. Rep. Langevin is confined to a wheel chair. Veto override failed in the House already. The Repubs must really want this one to go away.

QUOTE(shoota @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) Hey guys, haven't seen a pitch from the game? How did Vazquez pitch tonight? You only need to see one pitch to understand the game. You'll see it on Sporscenter. -

Good inning Javy. Give us a few more of those. In fact, the whole year would be nice.
