  1. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) Right after he wins himself a few cy youngs, that works . And about 300 or so games.
  2. Crede seems to have bulked up a bit during the offseason.
  3. Redding starting to get hit a little bit. Unsurprising. BMac saying all the right things.
  4. By the way, wasn't Brandon supposed to have added some weight? He looked even thinner today than he did last year IMO.
  5. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) Will some1 take the battery outta singleton? He is nonstop talking lol. I'd rather have him talking a ton than being too nervous to open his mouth. BMac in the booth! Wooot!
  6. Man, I've seen 2 Konerko at bats this year, and I already really like how he looks at the plate. He's staying back on the ball, not trying to do too much, just poking the ball wherever he can, and he's 2/2 today. He keeps that attitude this year, and he'll be getting a nice shiny award sometime next winter. He gets into trouble when he starts trying to be a "pull hitter" or putting too much pressure on himself to do something. He just stays back on the ball & doesn't try to do too much, he'll kill the rest of that league.
  7. I love how they have the trophy behind the "Sox" in the little stat bar at the bottom for the hitters.
  8. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) It looks like Rick White Tim Redding is on the mound. That's who that is.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) looks like they told brandon to focus on the fastball and changeup. He has throw about 2 curves. From what I saw I think Brandon was doing a lot of work with that 2-seamer. Most of his pitches were between 87-90 mph, when he actually threw the full four seamer, he got it up to 94.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Thomas has got 20 points in his 1st game for Phoenix thus far. And the Knicks have fallen Behind Charlotte for the worst record in the league.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) 20 points on 7/13 shooting tonight for Tim Thomas in his Suns debut. Good thing we got rid of that useless bum, who wants a 6'10 player who can score on a team full of too small players? He doesn't play hard enough damnit! Yeah I'm sure everybody will run to Pax and Skiles defense here, but you know Ben Gordon doesn't play defense either, and we let him stay around. And he's not 6'10 either. If there was a reason Pax and Skiles couldn't use that guy...after the job they did turning this franchise completely around last year, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt no matter who they discard and what they wind up doing. At least for now. I just think there had to be somehting behind the scenes about that whole deal, and I'm willing to give them a season or two to prove their plan to be one that works. They get 2 top picks from the Knicks, and I'll complain a lot less about releasing that guy.
  12. Here, Here, Here, and here are posts from a blog raising questions about the methodology of this particular poll, for those who are interested.
  13. Sonofa(beep) I actually get this game. Better make sure I'm up. Didn't Brandon have like 20% of our wins last ST? I think we're due for a BMac Shutout.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) Way too early to crown about the favorite. How many innings can you possibly give to 8 guys during the spring?
  15. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Same deal in the Onlys. The GOP thread posts would probably have steam coming out of my ears. And they should, that's what the thread is for. Heck, yesterday I posted a response to the GOP only thread here, because my post count in their thread is 0 and I intend to keep it that way, whether or not they can't figure out long division in their posts.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) its spring training dont worry about it... this was his 1st outing 2 I think so he is facing major league players for the 1st time added into that. It appears 4 of his runs were also unearned. Lopez and Liotta appear to have both had good showings.
  17. 8 years for the Duke-stir.
  18. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) I was looking at an article about the Antarctica data today. You might have to move in 10-12 years, Flaxx. So, the press reports on the study have all said that it appears in Science, but I can't for the life of me find the actual bloody paper anywhere in the current issue of Science online. This is driving me nuts. I'd have posted it here, but I can't find it.
  19. QUOTE(G&T @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Yeah, well I'll still take my chances. There are vastly younger, healthier bats to take your chances with, IMO.
  20. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) Factoring in age? He's 32.
  21. QUOTE(WCSox @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Yes, traded. :banghead Replacing Crede with A-Rod would be a solid option as well (although I think that Crede might be slightly better defensively). I think it's more than slightly.
  22. QUOTE(WCSox @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) If the Sox hadn't signed Thome, I would've said Pujols. But at this point, I think that the Sox could benefit from an established stud closer, so I'd go with either Lidge or Gagne (assuming the injury has had minimal effect). "I don't think that taste is there."
  23. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) Mariano Rivera or A-Rod One of these years, age just has to catch up with Rivera. I don't know when it'll happen. But he just can't keep getting better every year. He can't have an ERA under .5 when he's 65. One of these years it has to happen...
