Well, game over. They're not gonna keep playing. Overall, a pretty decent game for the Sox. Rick White is the only pitcher that really struggled. Josh Stewart and Mike Porzio had nice outings, and Royce Ring was good too.
-
Bottom 10 Royce Ring in to pitch - Strike 1, Strike 2, Strike 3. 1 out - Flyout to RF. 2 out - Walk - Runner caught in rundown gets tagged out. Inning over Not sure if they're gonna keep playing or not....
-
Well, I agree that he probably won't make the team. But, one of the guys on the team won't be Rauch (unless he's our #5 starter). Having him pitch out of the bullpen for an inning or 2 a couple times a week is not as good as starting every 5 days in AAA. I think that's where he'll be to start the year.
-
Top 10 - Sanders flies one to RF for the first out - Valenzuela (0-1) hits one down the RF line but it's run down nicely by the Oakland RF'er. 2 away - Burke gets HBP (not surprising) in the back - Borchard (7 for 34 this Spring <_< ) goes down swinging on a pitch out of the zone. Side retired
-
As expected, Porzio in to start the A's half of the 9th - Called strike 3 on a 2-2 pitch. 1 away - Popup into short left, Nunez out to make the catch. 2 down - Grounder to 2nd base for the final out of the inning. 1-2-3 for Porzio, preserving the game, and his slim chances of making the 25-man roster Extra innings baby!!!!
-
Top 9...tie game, 6-6 Some guy named Booey in to pitch (is it Bababooey?) - Rowand lines one to the pitcher who knocks it down, picks up, throws out Aaron. 1 out - Olivo (0-1; flyout) skies one to CF for the 2nd out - Nunez (SS) stares at strike 3. Inning over Going to the bottom of the 9th...Porzio is likely to come in. Hopefully he can have a solid outing.
-
Bottom 8 Damaso in (you know what that means...Porzio likely in for the 9th if need-be ) - Lead-off walk (never good) - Grounded past 3rd into left...runners at 1st and 3rd, 0 out - Popup on left side. Hummell (3rd base) make the catch. 1 down. - YEAH...swing and miss on 3-2 count. 2 away - Liner to SS...3 outs Marte out of a 1st and 3rd, 0 out jam...nice indeed. Going to the 9th, tied at 6
-
Still Top 8 following Jamie Burke's game-tying 2-run HR - Flyout by someone. 2 out - Basehit for someone hitting for Lee. - Harris flies out to end the inning. Through 7 1/2, tied up at 6.
-
Top 8 - Lead-off single for someone (one of our kids) - Valenzuela flies out. 1 on, 1 out - Burke NICE...deep flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...TIE GAME BABY!!!
-
Bottom 7 Munoz in the game - Mark Ellis gets yet another extra basehit. Lead-off double - Flyball into CF on a 3-2 count. Runner holds at 2nd - Called strike 3 on a 3-2 count. 2 down. Runner still standing out and 2nd base - Basehit into CF...run scores (f***)...Harris guns down runner trying to stretch it into 2. End 7, Sox down 6-4
-
Top 7 - Rowand pops out - Olivo flies out - Jimenez (0-2; bb) called strike 3 1-2-3 go the Sox End 6 1/2, Sox down 5-4.

God damn...finally I can hear these guys again... I don't know what happened, but the A's are now hitting. I think it's still tied up at 4 White still in the game, bottom 6 Hmmm..my feed keeps f***ing up. This is getting very annoying. There was a 2-strike count on Dye, but I don't know what happened - Well, now I know what happened. Durazo just bombed one to put the A's back ahead 5-4 - Gant pops up, and D'Angelo makes the catch for the 2nd out - Ball hit back to White, he can't handle it, and somehow the runner is safe (my feed, once again, f***ed up). Ruled an infield single. White's looking kinda shakey. - Grounder to Willie Harris (they think, in for Graffy I guess) for the 3rd out. End 6, 5-4 A's My play by play sucks today
-
Top 6 Following Crede's lead-off HR... - Konerko pops out after hitting one foul a mile long. 1 out - Daubach (0-2; DP, flyout) goes down swinging. 2 away - KABOOM for Carlos Lee. Game tied at 4. My computer is making these guys sound like R2-D2 -- is it just mine that's doing that, or is their feed f***ing up?
-
Top 6 I said that Crede ended the 5th by making out..but I musta been wrong, because he just led off the 6th by taking former teammate Keith Foulke deep. 4-3 A's
-
Bottom 5 Rick White in to pitch Numbers on Josh Stewart -- 4 IP, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 k, ? bb -- pretty good I'd say. Not great, but definitely workable. - Terrence Long leads off with a walk (not good) - Bouncer through the left side of the infield. Runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody down - Mark Ellis (2-2; double, HR) pops up to the right side, Paulie makes the catch in foul territory. 1 away - Ugh...3-run HR for Scott Hatteburg (sp?) on a 3-2 pitch. 4-2 bad guys. Lead off walk comes in to score (not surprising) - 3 pitch strikeout for the next guy...2 down - Chavez grounds out to end the inning. 2 hits, 1 dreaded walk, 3 runs, 0 left End of 5, 4-2 A's
-
this is an omen that 2003 is CLee's gold glove year! Well..all kidding aside, he did make a very nice diving catch the other day on the WGN vs. the Cubs. He knows what he's doing out there sometimes.
-
Top 5 Keith Foulke warming up for the A's - Rowand (1-1; single, r) fouls out to Chavez on a 3-2 count. 1 out - Alomar (1-1; double, rbi) line drive into left field for a basehit . 1 on, 1 out White, Munoz, Porzio, and Damaso are all scheduled to pitch later in the game - Jimenez lines one to CF, Dye moves over and makes an over the shoulder catch. Sandy holds. 2 away Pitching change...Keith coming in - LOL, Sandy swipes a base on the first pitch. - I think it was Crede who grounded out to end the inning. Runner stranded at 2nd. Through 4 1/2, Sox still up 2-1
-
Bottom 4 - Dye hits chopper down to Crede, who gloves and guns him out. 1 down - Durazo flies out deep to Rios in CF. Nice running catch by Armando. Very quickly 2 away in the home half of the 4th - Gant stares at strike 3. Stewart's first K of the day. VERY fast inning (7 pitches, I think). End 4, Sox up 2-1
-
Top 4 Following PK's lead-off go-ahead HR... - Daubach (0-1, DP) flies out to Gant in left. 1 down - Lee goes down looking (1st K for Oak pitching). 2 away - Graffanino grounds out to SS for the 3rd out. The A's are out of the inning, but not before a solo blast by Paul Konerko to lead off the inning. Through 3 1/2, 2-1 Good guys
-
Paulie leads off the 4th with a BOMB....2-1 Sox
-
Bottom 3 Josh Stewart still on the hill, having given up 3 hits and 1 run through 2 IP - Mark Ellis liner one-hops the wall for a lead-off double - Groundout to Graffanino at 2nd. Runner advances to 3rd with just 1 out - Tejada HARD liner snagged by D'Angelo (not sure where he's playing if Graffy is at 2nd)! He climbed the ladder for that one! 2 down - Chavez flies to LF, Carlos makes the grab fighting the sun for the 3rd out. Lead-off double does no damage. End of 3, Good guys tied with the A's 1-1
-
It's a great day for a ball game!!!! Let's see here... First off, these announcers SUCK With that said, here's what's going on.... ---------- Sox are hitting, Top 3 - RBI double for Sandy scores Aaron Rowand to tie the game at 1...sounded SOLID - Jimenez (0-1; lineout) takes a walk on a 3-1 count...1st and 2nd - Rios (?-?; ?) hits grounder up the middle...force at 2nd, Rios beats throw to 1st...2 outs, runners on 1st and 3rd - Crede (hitting 3rd? ) lines out to end the inning Through 2 1/2, tied at 1

They're starting 25 of the first 55 games between the 2 of them regardless -- I don't see how it matters what order they're in, so long as the starts are made and they do well. Isn't that the most important thing?? You said "Show loyalty to the guys who got the team where it is with their hard work". Well, to be VERY honest, where exactly has this team gotten? We've got some extremely talented players, and I think we have the potential for great success, but so far, all we've done is have 1 great regular season in which we went to the playoffs and got swept out like yesterday's garbage. And other than that, we've had an injury-plagued year in which we disappointed bigtime, and the following year - when we were "healthy" - in which we disappointed even more. So, I don't know what exactly KW should owe the players who could barely manage to play .500 last year. KW's acquisition of Bartolo Colon proved to me (and many other Sox fans, I believe) that he is legitimately committed to winning in 2003. Whether or not we're renting him for a year remains to be seen. But, you can't say that he's not trying to win. IMO he's put a very talented team out on the field for 2003 -- it's up to those 25 men to come through and make us fans proud of them.
-
I don't know if anyone's "expecting" my usual play-by-play, but if they are, it's not gonna start for a while cuz I'm on a different computer today and I'm having to download the RealOne Player (with dial-up, it takes a while ). So anyway, when I can, I'll start giving updates -- if anyone cares.

LOL, Cubkilla, are you causing trouble? Tisk, Tisk.
