I agree. Game 7 was the best game I've ever seen too. The comebacks by the Yankees were pretty incredible (even though I wanted to jump out the window), but nothing in that series tops game 7.

Through his interpretor, Jose Valentin, Bartolo said this... "When you are talking about Randy and Schilling, you are talking about 5-star guys. But probably in the future we can be like Randy and Schilling." Sounds like Bartolo plans on maybe being here beyond 2003. Of course, whether or not that happens depends largely upon how the Sox start this season off. If they come out blazing, maybe they can lock up BC for a few years at probably $10M or so a year. If they have to wait until the off-season, his price tag will go up when he's an unrestricted FA. I hope to see Bartolo and Buehrle in Sox uniforms for years to come.

Sox's spin on negotiations displeases Buehrle camp

that would be my fondest wish. However, there is still more to the story and I hope it is not an insurmountable more but I am not feeling really optimistic at this moment. Well, ya know what heals all wounds? Winning. If the Sox make some noise this season and decide to pump a few extra dollars into this team, we'll see a long-term deal signed in the off-season. If we flop, we'll see Bartolo traded at the deadline (or, at the very least, he'll leave via free agency after the season), and it will be bleak times in ChiTown. -

Well, it sure is nice to finally get some answers. I must say, though...I have no problem with contracts that aren't guaranteed. I don't think anybody deserves to have guaranteed money regardless of how they do. Sure, I believe that a player should be rewarded for past success, but after a certain point it's a risk for the team, and it could lead to a complacent player (one who thinks "It doesn't matter whether I have an ERA of 3 or an ERA of 6, I'm gonna get my money regardless"). Not saying that would happen with MB, but the Sox have to cover their asses just in case. That said, the Sox definitely should have been upfront and avoided making MB out to be the bad guy in this situation. Very unprofessional. And for the record, I never denied HSC or anybody else knew otherwise...all I asked for was proof. Now that I have it, I can believe what she was saying. The proof definitely is in the puddin', and the puddin' stinks. -
I could care less if he faces 1 batter or 6 -- as long as he retires who JM asks him to retire.

Heh, ya think?

Thanks for saying you appreciate it guys -- it's no big deal at all (in fact, it's fun), but it's still nice to hear a "thanks" every now and then. Koch in... - Liner into CF for a basehit (6th time today that the leadoff guy has gotten on for Seattle -- that's not a good thing to see) - Strikeout swinging on a 1-2 pitch. 1 down - Edgar 4-6-3 to end the game. Our bullpen did great. 5 IP, 0 runs. Nice. Sox win 9-4. We're now 8-6 on the Spring.

Bottom 8 - Someone popped out to lead off the inning - Borchard hits one deep to CF over the CF's head (dumbass), and Joe is in there with a 2-bagger. - Graffy (1-2; BB, 2r) hits looper into CF for a basehit. Borchard holds at 3rd. 1st and 3rd with 1 out. They're saying that the key to our 'pen this season is going to be Tom Gordon. I'd say I agree with that, along with Kelly Wunsch. - Jamie Burke up for the first time today hits chopper. They try to turn 2, but Burke beats it out. Run scores, Sox up 9-4 - Miles (1-4 today) grounds out to 2nd to end the inning. 1 run, 2 hits, 1 stranded (4 LOB today) End 8, Sox in control 9-4 Billy coming in for the 9th
-
Top 8 Kelly Wunsch in, as well as Jamie Burke - Flyball to fairly deep CF caught by Joe Joe. 1 out - Grounder to Nunez (I think they said Nunez), thrown out. 2 down. - Grounder to Miles, throws out the runner. 1....2.....3....nice job once again by Kelly. Through 7 1/2, 8-4 good guys

Sanders flies out to RF. 2 out - Valenzuela bouncer up the middle, robbed by Castillo, thrown out. 3 out End 7, Sox up 8-4 Wunsch likely to come in for the top of the 8th.
-
Top 7 Glover still in for his 2nd inning of work - Edgar stands there and stares at a pitch down the middle, strike 3. 1 out - Colbrun pops out in foul territory, Miles makes the catch. 2 out - Ground out to Graffy. Inning over. Glover ends his day on a good note after a rocky start. Through 6 1/2, Sox up 8-4
-
Bottom 6 - Paul leads off by flying out - Miles up, hits chopper, gets thrown out - Valentin struck out (I think) to end the inning. 1-2-3...wow! End 6, Sox up 8-4

Nice job by Gary. 2 hits, 1 walk, 3 stranded Through 5 1/2, Sox still up 8-4
-
Bottom 5, Sox up 8-4 - Konerko leads off with a ground out to 3rd - Daubach (0-2; DP, flyout) struck out. Not a good day for BD - Borchard strikes out, but the ball gets away, and he's in safely at 1st - I wasn't paying attention, but the next guy got out. Grounder I think. End 5, Good guys up by 4
-
Top 5, Sox up 8-4 Gordon in to pitch Daubach goes from LF to 1st Rios in LF - Lead off single off Graffy's glove into left - ...Edgar long single off the top of the wall in right (LOL). 1st and 3rd, nobody out - Colbrun strikes out. Runners still at 1st and 3rd, now with 1 out - Nice...5-4-3 to get out of the inning unscaved. Through 4 1/2, 8-4 Sox
-
Bottom 4, tied up at 4 I had to go get my laundry, so I missed stuff. - Borchard walked to lead off the inning and ended up scoring, so the Sox are winning 5-4 I think Valentin is up now with runners on 1st (Miles) and 3rd (Graffy)), Thomas on deck. - Valentin pops out to left. Graffanino tags up, scores. 6-4 Sox. 2 out. - Thomas (2-2 with 2 RBI and a HR on the day) goes DEEEEEEEEEEEEP again. 8-4 Sox. :fyou you know who - Mags gets out somehow. End 4, 8-4 Sox.

Frank stays put. 4-2 Sox. 10 RBI for Mags this Spring - Konerko takes ball 4, the 3rd walk of the inning. 1st and 2nd with 2 out - Daubach flies out deep to CF 3 runs, 2 hits, 3 walks, 2 left on....end 3, 4-2 good guys
-
Should I keep up with the updates? Nobody really seems to be interested.
-
Hmmm...Daubach (LF) means he's in Left Field, heh...guess you overlooked it.
-
Top 3, Mariners 2 Sox 1 - Leadoff single up the middle for some guy named Blumquist on a 3-1 count - Line drive basehit to CF, runner holds at 2nd, 2 on - Edgar pops out to Graffanino, 1 out - Colbrun grounds into a 4-6-3, inning over 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 left Through 2 1/2, Sox down 2-1
-
Bottom 2, 2-1 M's - Konerko leading off. He's DH today. Basehit for Paulie (he's now hitting .500 this spring -- 11 for 22). - Daubach (LF) 4-6-3, 2 outs - Borchard up. They're saying he's probably not going to make the team. However, since Rowand's health is uncertain, it's still possible. He grounded out to end the inning. End 2, 2-1 M's.
-
Top 2, 1-0 Sox - Graffanino at 3rd - he just made a throwing error on a grounder by Edgar on a 2-1 count. He let the ball play him, and then made a bad throw - Borchard makes a nice running catch in CF for the first out. 1 on, 1 out - Cameron bullet to CF for a basehit, runners on 1st and 2nd They're saying Bartolo's fastball is lacking today. - John Mabry pops out to 3rd for the 2nd out. 2 on, 2 out - Groundball just past Bartolo into CF, throw to the plate is cut-off, run scores, 1-1 with runners on 1st and 3rd - Linedrive to CF one-hops Borchard, run scores, 2-1 M's, runners on 1st & 2nd - Ichiro grounds out to Frank, inning over 3 hits, 1 error, 2 UNearned runs End 1 1/2, 2-1 Mariners
