  1. Why not Damaso? He's been lights out (which means he'll probably get lit up ), and he was warming up in the last inning.
  2. Yeah, that was really surprising, LOL. Nice job by Flash, though, to hold it at 5-5. Let's see if our hitters can respond and give Koch a save opportunity.
  3. Considering that he's given up 4 hits (including the 1 today) in 13 1/3 innings, probably not very many.
  4. Yeah. Hopefully Flash can pick him up and get out of this inning having given up just the 1 run.
  5. EAT-s***-AND-DIE YOU MORON. Kelly's been our best pitcher (save Loaiza) so far -- he's entitled to 1 bad game. :fyou
  6. If he comes in throwing heat like he was the other day, I think we'll be OK. I hope Sandy's ready to block his curve in the dirt.
  7. Kelly with his first bad game of the year. Bases loaded, 0 out, and in comes Flash.
  8. If you look at it, our offense really wasn't changed much in the off-season. Most of our biggest moves were to solidify our pitching (Colon, Loaiza, Koch, White, Gordon), while offensively we really only made minor moves (Rios, Daubach). Kind of ironic that so far, our pitching has been pretty good (although inconsistent), while it's been our offense that, like you said, has cost us big time.
  9. He's the one who had the seizure in the dugout. That was scary stuff.
  10. Young beats out that grounder regardless of the throw. And yeah, Danny looks solid today. 7 K's, and just the 1 walk. Good game when we needed it.

    Sox

It's certainly the first time I've seen it in the last...3-4 weeks. It was a thing of beauty.

    Sox

Isn't that one of the 7 signs? Anyway, nice to see that. Valentin steals 2nd, moves to 3rd on a grounder, then a sacrifice fly scores him. Atta way!
  13. Neither one of them is.............give me maggs stats and then get back to me. Magglio = 3.82 RBI per HR. Not much better than Lee, dude.
  14. Unless you want to spend $10M+ for a SS, Jose is about as good as you're gonna get. Aside from Nomar, Miguel, A-Rod, and Jeter, who would you take ahead of Jose?
  15. Including today, Lee = 3.75 RBI per HR Frank Thomas, by most accounts, has been a good RBI guy over the course of his career, and he has a ratio of 3.38 RBI per HR. Do you stick by your comment that he's not a good RBI guy?
  16. Down 3, runners on 1st and 2nd with 0 out, Alomar DEFINITELY should have been bunting. But, for once we did something fundamentally wrong and it didn't come back to bite us in the ass.
  17. Can't say you're wrong. But, at this point, we need SOMETHING, ANYTHING to get this team going. That COULD have been the starting point. But, we've said that a lot so far this year.
  18. I've gotta say, that was AWESOME. We were dead -- we NEED to win this game, or it's wasted.
  19. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!! f*** YEAH CARLOS!!!!
  20. I applaud Hawk. He's forced to sit there and watch the Sox stink it up game after game, and there aren't many people who are bigger fans of this team than he is, but he has to pretty much keep silent. He doesn't have the luxury of screaming out "f***KKKKKKKKKKKK" everytime the Sox f*** up like we at home or in the stands do. He's also got to be PC and try to keep the fans at home interested. He can't say "This team sucks" or "It's over", because WGN wants people to keep the game tuned in. Hawk is great, and I don't think he gets enough credit for how good he does under VERY difficult circumstances.
  21. We don't win in '00 without Valentin.
  22. I think that if they fire Manuel in the next few days, they should make 1 or 2 moderately big trades. NOT a "firesale", but trading someone like Konerko, Thomas, or Koch. At this time, the one with the most trade value would probably be Koch (someone like Boston is probably desperate for bullpen help right about now), while Konerko and Thomas don't have much value, but who knows. Maybe get Damon from Boston for Koch? Then move Damaso to the closer's role. I think he's got the mentality to be a major league closer. I'd rather have him as a set-up man, but desperate times..well you know the rest. RIGHT NOW, there are 4 players that I would not consider trading. They are Magglio, Damaso, Bartolo, and Buehrle. The last 2 will join the "tradeable" list if we are playing this way near the end of June. But, right now, I don't think giving up on this season would be prudent. Dark days could be ahead for the Sox organization.
  23. I'm against firing a coach/manager when the team isn't performing well, but it's reached the point where something BIG has to happen, and it's gotta be bigger than firing a hitting coach. Manuel's gotta go unless we come back today and put a winning streak together. If we make a change now, there's still PLENTY of time to make this season right. But, if we are content to stick with what we've been doing, in about 3 or 4 weeks we'll be out of it.
