  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 11, 2008 -> 06:48 PM) Finish this sentence... "...over the head of Jenks, Uribe charges, throws..." OH NO!!
  2. I couldn't find the Sox / Tigers one (youtube took it down), but in the process I found this one with Tigers and Royals. It has a good Farnsworth takedown of Affeldt. Tigers Royals fight
  3. Another depressing log for the fire RE: tomorrow. Toby Hall.
  4. QUOTE(Felix @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 10:19 PM) It's not like these things matter anyway. Exactly.
  5. QUOTE(Jason82807 @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 10:16 PM) Vote "Wrong" on tonight's myfoxchicago.com poll Right or Wrong, the Cubs will have a better season than the White Sox. Edit/Delete Message Why?
  6. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 08:58 PM) Confidence can work wonders on a player. There's no stat in baseball for that. I won't defend Uribe all year, but I'll defend him on opening day even if he goes 0-5 with 5 K's and 20 men left on base. I just don't agree to make an already bad situation at 2B worse. With what people here expect the Sox to do this year, it doesn't matter who they roll out where anyway. and they'll all get ice cream after the game even if they lose.
  7. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) Isnt pablo going to be in the lineup opening day? Nope. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  8. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 30, 2008 -> 02:06 AM) White Sox break record for most wins ever. Perfect 173 - 0 and Baseball Prosectus writes article claiming that they really weren't that good.
  9. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 29, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) He won't dream of benching Anderson? What team have you been watching? I think he has wet dreams about benching Anderson. I now have ZERO doubt that Anderson's going down when Owens comes off the DL.
  10. QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) There's no reason to believe Uribe wont have a short leash. Especially considering Richar and what he has done already in his career. Uribe's OBP the last two years has been lower than Richar's last year. Also (and this doesnt target your specific post at all).... people who decry the farm system being decimated should appreciate the possibilities of Uribe and Crede being showcased and being exchanged for prospects. Dumping them from the onset does nothing unless you really think the guys behind them are way way way better. What I'm saying, is thay won't be DFA'd (cut). If they were to get something via a trade, they would have to show something positive for someone to want them. Yeah, Uribe will share time, but I think he'll get the majority of ABs at 2B.
  11. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) ... Crede and Uribe. They will both be on short leashes and will be DFA'd should they suck. That's something that keeps getting said, but I don't believe it. Hopefully they'll hit, making the point moot.
  12. Adam Everett @ $2.8M > Uribe @ $4.5M, no?
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 4, 2007 -> 10:42 PM) That has to be crap. I don't see anyway that Minny would trade Johan with out at least getting Ellsbury or Bucholz back. Steinbrenner's big mouth basically lessened Minnesota's leverage, while helping out his main rival. Like father, like son. The mouth works before the brain.
  14. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Dec 1, 2007 -> 05:43 PM) I still don't know why the Mets aren't going after Santana harder. Do the Mets even have anything close to what the Yankees and Red Sox are offering? This is an honest question. I'm not familiar with their farm system.
  15. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:41 PM) So if a team doesn't play their best, it's considered choking? Not their best, no. Stinking up the joint, quite probable. Bottom line, Cleveland had 3 chances to win 1 game. The Red Sox had 1 chance to win 3 games. It's funny, the Cubs seem to be the only team that's "allowed" to choke.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) WTF are you talking about? I don't even have a clue what you're trying to get at at this point, other than the sports radio caller mentality of, "THEY'RE CHOKING!". It's not choking, it's losing a baseball game to a f***ing damn good team. I thought Cleveland was a " f***ing damn good team" too, no? They aren't playing their best. My eyes tell me they came out playing tight. This is where sports debates cannot be won because it cannot be quantified. If you think sports are played in a vacuum and emotion never enters into it then I don't know what to say.
  17. If it's not a choke job, then they aren't that good. You can't have it both ways. 10 to 1 after 4 innings is hardly a marginal difference.
  18. Ozzie was right on the mark about those guys.
  19. It looks like he's pitching scared. Maybe it's that he doesn't have his stuff, but he's nibbling. You can't do that, especially with Boston.
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) Right. They've got no killer instinct and the Red Sox do. They will not win this series. Also, Ryan Garko is an idiot.
  21. Cleveland's all done. They got their collective tails firmly between their legs. Bent right over for Boston, no fight whatsoever.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:33 AM) Well, I've never heard Babe Ruth described as "Clutch" have you? I'd say there's a better chance of Babe Ruth signing with the White Sox than ARod.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 12:13 AM) LOL give me a f***ing break. Yeah Manny is a douche, but if you throw at him he'll just homer the next 2 times he faces you and stare and watch it leave both times. It's the same thing as the Chad Johnson stuff, if you don't want to see it, don't let him do well. So you're saying that you never see batters show up pitchers, then subsequently get hit / brushed back? I'm not saying that it would stop him from being a "douche", but that I'm surprised it doesn't happen.
