QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 07:14 PM) they were talking about how steinbrenner is complaining about the alcs not being pushed back and wilbon stated that if the situation were reversed noone would care because it was the white sox and not the yankees or red sox it was happening too How nice of Steinbrenner to look out for the Angels like that.

No need to worry, Timo Perez could always play 1st.

Does anyone have the numbers of Garland this year against the Angels and Yankees?

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Take note of AJ after hitting the homerun(s). Run the bases like you have actually hit one before instead of staring at it. Oh wait, you didn't hit one today. Oh well. It drives me NUTS the way Manny stands at home plate posing after hitting a home run. The old school mentality was to knock a guy on his ass the next time up. But that's just "Manny being Manny". :finger

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) What's the story with this "Ramirez" fellow and that "Ortiz" guy? Are they any good? They have that great player Manny Ortez.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) I don't belive that Olerud will be the main focus of the WSox in this series. I'm thinking that the LF and DH will be more of a concern. Most definitely, it's just one of those weird coincidences.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) 3? 1993, 2000 Olerud was on the team that beat the Sox. 1983, he was in elementary school. Yeah, I checked baseball-reference, and it was the last 2. They were probably getting ahead of themselves and counting THIS year as well. :finger

One of the hosts mentioned that the last 3 times the White Sox were eliminated in the playoffs, John Olerud was on the other team. He now plays for the Red Sox.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Who is going for the Red Sox against Contreras? Does anyone know the pitching matchups for the series?
-
QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Long story short, all four teams can still finish with a 95-67 record. Wouldn't that be fun.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) Our offense is just fine. They are not popping up or striking out with men on, they are stretching their home run muscles. They are waiting for the next indian series to hit 40 home runs. As Allah as my witness I have seen this. We will drive those wahoo swine into the 5th depths of hell. Better yet.

Believe it or not, he's walking on air...

Do you mean in a just one game, or the whole series?

Is this Ozzie's friend?

People who say that pitchers wouldn't throw at guys if they had to come up to bat are way off. The National league pitchers still hit, and the DH in the American league is relatively new (considering how long the game has been around). Retaliation has always been to hit one of their better hitters. How many pitchers in the national league have been HBP? As someone already said, it's due to players wearing all that equipment and practically standing on top of the plate.

QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) I've got a waiver question. Since we are last in line, having the best record, are we completely unable to block any waiver trade moves consumated by teams with lesser records? If so, this concerns me. I'm not worried about Huff and Baez, since LaMar isn't getting more than he just turned down. But I wonder about Guardado, who I would still like to see on the Sox, but who would definitely get claimed before we could get to him. Who knows the answer? Only national league teams. If an American league team put someone on waivers, the White Sox would be last in line in the AL, then it would go to the NL.
-
Only the White Sox. Aren't you familiar with the saying "Be careful what you wish for"?
-
Do you think Iguchi got hurt real bad, or was it just a precautionary move to take him out?

Trade WINDS?, more like a fart.

Great Work! Gotta love that Geoff Blum trade. That'll put us over the top.
