NON WHITE SOX TRADE THREAD
They just had a report on WEEI in Boston that the Red Sox and Twins are working on a deal that would exchange Bill Mueller for JC Romero.

ESPN Loser Has This To Say about the Sox
QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I don't think he's being unfair. I don't think anyone, even the most die-hard ChiSox fan among us, would have seriously predicted us to be this far in front of the league. It drives me crazy when people say this, because it is not the point. If no one predicts player A to hit 50 home runs, for example, and he does; Does that mean he really didn't hit them? The fact of the matter is he is a Red Sox fan, so he has to bring down any team that's not the Red Sox. The thing that bothers me is that you can tell when guys don't actually watch the games. They just look at numbers, but numbers don't tell the WHOLE STORY. His rationale is simplistic and void of any real insight. It's done as a comical piece and should be treated as such. I hate when really biased homers get jobs writing for national publications. The fans lose, and I would say the same thing if it was "Chicago Sports Guy".

Jose Contreras the All - Star?
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) If Tino Martinez and Paul Konerko are 2 of the top 3 vote getters at 1st base, I wonder who the 3rd guy is. I bet it's somebody else that's entirely non-deserving. You're right, it's Kevin Millar, LOL. The one getting royally screwed is Mark Teixiera.

CBSSportline predicts the All-Star rosters
QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) He could make it as a reserve, but problaly not a starter. Brian Roberts should be the starter unless he's still hurt when the All Star game comes. I doubt they'll have 3 second basemen.

The Erstad collision compared to the Burke one.
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Hunter on Burke. Yep. Even though I hate the twinkies, I actually used to have respect for Torri Hunter. After that happened, I can't even look at the guy without feeling hate. I now think he's a piece of s***. One word, UNNECESSARY.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) I think they would trade evert anyway before frank I agree. I was just wondering if it's even a matter for debate, unless Frank is demanding to be traded.

White Sox looking to deal Thomas or Everett
CAN they trade Frank Thomas? Wouldn't the 10-5 rule come into effect.

Peter Gammons Says
QUOTE(Be Good @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Thank you. I think we should be nice to Gammons, since he decides wether teams win or lose. I know what you're saying, but it annoys me when people on national media outlets have a bias. It takes away from their objectivity, thus making their analysis useless.

Peter Gammons Says
QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) He sounded like he was a little ticked off that 2 AL Central teams might make the playoffs because he thinks that one of the east or west coast teams would makea better playoff team.. He's probably afraid "his" Red Sox won't.

5/23/2005 Sox @ Halos Game Thread
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) I hate having to think like that. That's the exact type of thing we started saying last year right before the Twins came back. I know exactly what you mean. There is NEVER enough of a lead to be comfortable. The Twins can come back in a hurry.

5/23/2005 Sox @ Halos Game Thread
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 24, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) Wasn't ruled an error but i know what you mean. Why wasn't it ruled an error? I didn't see it live, but they showed the replay of it later and it was in his glove and he dropped it. Also, if we do get shut out, won't it be the first time this year? I'm just asking because since the streak ended at 37, I believe this is the only other game without a lead, no?

History Repeating Itself
QUOTE(The Critic @ May 9, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) If they get to the ALCS, I don't care who they're facing! Yeah, unless it's Oakland. :puke

History Repeating Itself
QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 8, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Last time before 2004 that Boston won the World Series the next year was the LAST year White Sox have been Champs . I hope history repeats itself. That's not right. Boston won in 1918, whereas 1917 was the last time the White Sox won the series. They SHOULD have won in 1919, but that was the infamous "Black Sox" series.

Keys to Contreras' success
QUOTE(hi8is @ May 6, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) "Jabroni: the poster who copy and pastes info from chisox.com what else does he do? oh... thats right, nothing...." I was going to say that I got a chuckle out of his avatar, but he changed it. What happened to Torri Hunter?

Neyer
Hi, new here. Anyway, there is something that I haven't seen discussed in regards to the success of the pitching staff. That's the addition of Pierzynski. I remember reading an article early in the season where Ozzie said how no one wanted to pitch to Olivo. Is it possible that A.J. has worked with the pitchers better than the catchers last year?
