QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 11:43 AM) I play a mean CD player. Way back when in grade school I tried the coronet for about three months, committed malpractice, and put it away. That sounds terrible.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 06:00 PM) I remember seeing a trivia question that asked for the names of the teams who are not plural like the Heat or the Lightning and both Sox were on that list. If you're talking about the sporcle quiz, it just asks for the professional teams that do not end in an "S."

Official: Omar Vizquel Signs with Sox

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 11:59 AM) I am sure he will do his filling in, but to me, this is a great move as essentially another coach. Then couldn't we just sign him as a coach? The guy will be 43 next season. I understand that he has been a great defender in his career, but he can't honestly be anywhere near as good as he was. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 10:40 AM) I'm just going to say it, women in general have unbelievably horrible taste in movies. I'll just say it, women have horrible taste in any kind of entertainment. Movies, television, books, and music.

Assassin's Creed II has been boring so far (as I was told, a long introduction to the storyline and actions), but it's obviously already going to be much better.
-
I now have three bands on the list for whom I voted the highest.
-
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) Don't worry Soxy,RHCP were high up in my list. I know age plays a major factor in musical taste but you just gotta have bands like Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin,AC/DC in you top 20 no matter what age you are, don't ya? I just hope the Jonas Brothers aren't on the list. No.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) I don't know if it is a bias as much as a catering to corporate Chicago. There is a silliness about Cub and Bear coverage that I rarely see with the Sox, Bulls and Hawks. The Cubs and Bears not only have a huge following throughout Chicagoland (and nationally for the Cubs), but the concentration of Cubs fans in the business district has always seemed very over the top to me. They are very intertwined with LaSalle Street and the dumb, over the top stories just seem to fit their fan base more. Every once in a while, the big shoulders, blue collar pandering story about the Sox, Bulls and Hawks comes out, but it is usually a blurb more than anything. I personally can not listen to Bears and Cubs fans for precisely this reason. There is a silly adoration and obsession with their teams and a false sense of entitlement/royalty in their so-called traditions. It comes out in the news coverage as they are simply trying to meet the demands of the readers. You're a smart man, Pants.

Wait a second, I think I might have forgotten to put Queen on my list. If I did, my list should be discarded entirely. Knight, did I?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) and since music is my passion and i see bruceeee made the list id like to give you guys a heads up on my #3 band(pretty sure they were) the gaslight anthem. i love turning people on to new great music and i think everyone young and old will love this band. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 12:37 PM) Sons still needs to answer what happened to the bodies that were in the burned down porn studio. Did they die, or did the guy with 2 fingers pull Darby out and they are holed up somewhere? Otherwise they have done well in tying things together. I'm positive that's going to come into play shortly. There's no way they could've just forgotten about it. There's a reason they showed the guy hiding in the room when the fire was started, and that they never mentioned a body being found. My guess is that Darby comes up big in bringing Zobelle down.

Got Assassin's Creed II yesterday. I'll let you guys know how it is, as I should have plenty of time to play it the next few days (I had hernia surgery yesterday, ha).

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Just started to watch Dexter the past couple of days. Wow. Pretty sweet yet disturbing show. But I am glued. If I didn't have two tests the next two days, it would be a Dexter marathon. John Lithgow has just been an incredible addition to the show. I know Dexter has to kill him eventually, but I really, really want them to somehow avoid that scenario if at all possible. The character is just so great.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 18, 2009 -> 10:31 AM) Sons of Anarchy was just epic last night. There is so much going on. I'm not sure I've ever watched a show that had so many story lines developing at once, but they do it so well.
-
Again, I'm surprised I had the highest vote for Bruce.
-
I would've probably had Talking Heads on my list, but I'm sure I forgot them.
-
QUOTE (AssHatSoxFan @ Nov 16, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) go watch Hard Eight That another Sasha Grey movie?
-
I'm surprised my ranking of Lynyrd Skynyrd at #12 is the highest vote they received.
-
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 09:42 AM) Ah crud, I forgot about the spoiler thingie. I thought I was the last person to see the film. Sorry. Psst, you haven't fixed it yet.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 08:40 AM) 97.1 usually breaks out the "deep cuts" with SMB, I bet this is on fairly often. Everytime i hear them do their deep cut program it seems like SMB is featured I swear I have never heard that song on the radio.
-
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 13, 2009 -> 07:40 AM) So come on get your rocks off, I'm gonna knock your socks off. Good stuff for sure, and it was on SMB's Greatest Hits so lazy 100% repetitive programing is the only reason classic rock stations seem to have forgotten this one. I swear I was born in the wrong decade. No type of music compares even remotely to classic rock and, to a lesser extent, Motown and oldies.
-
I recently stumbled upon a pretty great classic rock that eluded me for years. I'm not sure why I have never heard it on the radio ever. True Fine Love by The Steve Miller Band.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) That trophy really should have gone to the entire team. I'm not taking away what JD did, because he was fantastic as well, but every member of that team played their part at some point during the season or in the postseason to get that team the trophy. I'm pretty sure every player on the playoff roster played a key role at some point in the playoffs except for Timo.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 12, 2009 -> 11:29 AM) I thought the episode was great. I do not think the fire thing was forgotten but will come back at some point. Why is it not brought up though? The vote was simply to allow Jax to leave if he wanted not that he was being thrown out. I think it sets up the remainder of this season pretty well. I agree that it sets up the rest of the season. I think I said that. There was just much less action this week than in the previous few weeks (which is to be expected, as tons of s*** went down).
-
QUOTE (juddling @ Nov 11, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) wow...i'm surprised you could call that a boring episode. it wasn't a lot of gunplay or anything but i would say that episode was far from boring. Ranging from Lots of stuff happened and even more is in store for next week. One thing i did notice that i wonder if it was on purpose was I guess we'll have to wait and see.
