Someone finally posted a picture of me from Halloween on Facebook. I think I was a very believable state trooper. I was in a ton of pictures that night, but almost nobody with cameras has a Facebook account, and that disappoints me.

**Official Phillies vs. Yankees Thread**
Milkman delivers replied to knightni's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 04:07 AM) He's just saying he doesn't feel like Philly shares the typical "David" status of a team playing the Yankees because the Phillies are, after all, the defending champs. Exactly, and I agree. I really have very little preference for this series. The only thing that comes to mind is that I guess it would be nice if Cliff Lee won a World Series, but that hardly has me rooting for Philadelphia. It's the team that has the most championships in the sport vs. the team that just won it last year. That doesn't intrigue me. -

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 04:38 AM) I have a poster of myself hanging over my bed, seriously. Explain? -
How about Dexter? John Lithgow was a great addition for this season. Trinity is an incredibly interesting character. The conversation between Dexter and Trinity when Dexter inevitably gets him (I think) should be epic.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 1, 2009 -> 02:59 AM) I've always enjoyed movies that rely more on psychological terrors than someone merely hacking people together one after another. My favorites would include: Suspiria, Full Circle (a VERY underrated movie and scary as hell), Don't Look Now, Session 9, In the Mouth of Madness I still don't think that movie is too scary, and I lived there.

QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) I went as Officer Ramathorn from Super Troopers a few years ago. I had a full real cop uni from a friend's dad. Grew out the stache and everything. And being half Indian, I look like thorny. It was awesome. And people literally moved off the sidewalk thinking I was a cop. So use the power wisely. One problem: that stache is like the anti-poon. I came pretty close to disproving this tonight, but I'm pretty sure the stache killed me (as you said). Now I have to put in time that I didn't sign up for.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Oct 31, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) The Shining is for me easily the scariest movie ever. The original The Haunting is real good too. Being old as I am, I love the old Universal horror movies, Frankenstein, Dracula, The Wolfman, The Mummy and all the sequels too. On the subject of The Shining, I worked nights for fifteen years at a resort where a grisly murder had happened (not too many years before I worked there) and I could tell you some pretty creepy stories. Please tell them, seriously.

Frank McCourt...What's that old saying?

I'm pretty sure the saying is "Don't s*** where you eat," but that just might be how I've heard it. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 11:13 AM) I'm gonna be swine flu. Seriously? If so, I'd like to know how you're doing it. I'm going as a state trooper, complete with my own mustache.

Sons Of Anarchy was exceptionally good tonight. I am finding myself siding more and more with Clay as the season goes forward.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 04:34 PM) When I say top of the totem pole, I mean they work for the top networks or do their work on the prime stage. So they have the best jobs, not that they are necessarily the best at what they do. Why you are bringing up Joe Morgan, I have no idea. At no point has anyone in this thread mentioned he was good at anything. Personally, I find McCarver to be solid. But obviously I am in the minority there. The point I am trying to make is that when you are on a network or in a job that is seen as much as ESPN or Fox during the postseason games, people start making comments and they tend to stick. But far fewer people watch Dan Plesac or Rob Dibble and so they don't immediately say stupid s*** like "So and so can't form a coherent sentence." Wow, you're going to take a jab at me days later? I thought you got it off of your chest and we left it alone like adults. You're a forum moderator. -
QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Oct 25, 2009 -> 08:30 AM) That's fine and all, but they're still wrong. QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 25, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Every reputable metric? Please list them. UZR for one season? Which means absolutely nothing... andddd... what else? I am rapidly coming to the opinion that Jayson Nix is the new Brian Anderson for Sox fans.
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 24, 2009 -> 11:21 AM) Nix is better then Getz on both offense and defense. Getz will hit for a better average, with less power and less of an ability to get on base. Getz was really, below-average last year, but hell he's a grinder so let's give him the benefit of the doubt. The double standard on expectations that some people have between Nix and Getz baffles me. Getz proves himself a hard-nosed player with limited offense and defense skills, and he's our future lead-off man. Nix hits a dozen homeruns, and plays great defense, and he needs to be begging for a job. Apparently the entire organization disagrees with you, along with the vast majority of fans.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) Everything is always so cut and dry, black and white, and so simple for you. Personally, I am shocked that more people of importance haven't recognized this and asked to you make more of an impact on the world. Honestly, stop and think, for just one second here with me. Joe Girardi has been in baseball for like 40 years, nearly all of his time breathing on this planet. You, on the other hand, have probably been watching baseball for 5 years. And yet, you are the brilliant one and he is the terrible manager. Of course. How could I have suspected otherwise. Wow, I'm not sure what I did to piss you off. Take it down a notch, forum moderator. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 10:44 PM) I am not privy to everything that Swish does in his private life, nor what occurred in our clubhouse last season, but wow, I'm not sure I have ever seen a guy go from generally liked to completely reviled so quickly (and without anyone really knowing what he even did in the first place). He sucked at baseball for the Chicago White Sox. Also, why did Girardi let Swisher bat there? He's been terrible this series, especially with RISP. I'm not sure what their bench was like at the time, but you have to do something there. Girardi's a terrible manager. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 06:46 PM) Oh give me a break. Tim McCarver is an awesome broadcaster. I learn more about how the game is played and why players do what they do on the field while watching games McCarver does than probably every other broadcaster on television other than maybe Steve Stone. The guy has a very solid knowledge of the game, makes very intelligent commentary, and has a very good voice on air. I think he and Buck work very well together. I want to hear some honest criticisms, not this bs crap about him not being able to "piece together a coherent sentence." That is an honest criticism. He blabbers on and doesn't make sense an awful lot. As others have said, he's also wrong quite a bit. If you don't find that to be an honest criticism, it's nothing to cry about. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) What is everyone else's take on the 2009 season Linebrink had and more importantly what the future holds for Liney and the Sox? I'll tell you what the future holds for the Sox. It's two years of waiting for an awful contract to come off of the books.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Honestly, who is "good" then? I don't get this. I was thinking about it the other night before this crap with Phillips even came up....why is Tim McCarver "awful"? Why is Steve Phillips? Other than the fact that it makes people feel good or somehow knowledgeable to claim a professional is "awful," what do they say or do that is so bad? And if they are so bad, who is good? I would love to hear... Tim McCarver can't piece together a coherent sentence. That's his problem. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 12:36 PM) I assume it's the coaches decision and since Rampage is in love with Kimbo, there you go. Not to mention, I'm sure Dana would push for it because of the ratings. I honestly don't think Kimbo is going to fight again though, I think they just keep teasing it to keep some extra viewers around. I agree that they're just trying to keep viewers around. Kimbo isn't coming back, IMO. And Rampage is a dick. I don't like him at all after last night's episode.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 21, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) I dont think that makes it any better that the Red Sox are also buying a championship. The Yankees were still attempting to buy a world series in 04 and 07, they just threw their money into a bunch of declining once great baseball players that couldnt get over the hump. I'm not saying it's any better. I just don't like the idea that the Red Sox don't catch s*** for "buying" championships because they do it successfully, while the Yankees catch s*** for failing at it. -

I hate when people talk about the Yankees buying the World Series. Yes, they are doing that this year, but I'm pretty sure the Red Sox had the highest payroll ever to win a World Series in 2004. And they had an even higher payroll when they won it in 2007.
