And to a much lesser extent, Questlove in the Roots.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 03:49 PM) The aldermen voted 49-0 in favor of giving King Daley a blank check funded by the tax payers. Unbelievable. Where is the 50th person?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) are you back to this again? i thought you moved past bragging about your online wrestling mag subscription I understand his point, but I would never, EVER pay for news on wrestling. And I really don't understand how anyone would. -
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 10:45 AM) Sons of Anarchy is so awesome and well-acted. Of course, this is just my opinion on what I would've done. It could leave you the whole week thinking about who did it, why, and what the response might be.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 07:29 AM) Is this the movie with the clip where Hitler is mad at the Cubs/Yankees/ Red Sox/every major league team in every pro sport? Yes. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 08:50 AM) What's to explain? Other than a few well-done scenes of pre-violent tension ( everything else was laughably stupid dialogue combined with either pointless violence and/or overly blatant attempts at art. It was all just so ham-fisted and blunt, it could have been written by a 12 year old. Which is why it was so odd that SOME scenes, usually when they had less dialogue and more non-verbal acting, were so well done. Well, the whole world seems to disagree with you, but you're entitled to your opinion...as wrong as it clearly is.

Well, Steve and whoever else is a fan, how did you like that episode?

A few days ago I mentioned in another thread that I would be watching Downfall because Netflix had been suggesting it to me (someone had posted a video clip from the movie). It was a really great movie. It's kind of hard to describe why it was so good. It sort of gave you a view of how Hitler's closest followers viewed him, especially towards the very end of the war right before he killed himself.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 04:14 PM) F*CK YEAH For the hell of it, I looked up the show on Wikipedia a few minutes ago. It turns out they've made a page for each character on the show. From my own experience of looking up shows on that site, only the most popular and long-running shows get pages for each character. This is a good sign.

It's very hit or miss to me.

My top three offensive weapons in Mafia Wars are currently an assault rifle, an armored personnel carrier, and a beret. My top three defensive weapons are the same armored personnel carrier, a guerrilla commando, and a wooden gun. That game just doesn't make sense sometimes.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 02:02 AM) Actually, i just had to look up what obp and slg meant. I have no idea what the Office of Border Patrol and Slave Labor Graphics have to do with any of this.

I think it's pretty unfair to compare the Yankees to anyone. They have 26 world titles with the closest being the Cardinals with 10. No team in college football has had that type of dominance.
-
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 11:11 AM) You're completely missing the point. It's college. Everyone is pretty much deeply rooted it tradition. Watching the chief dance when I was younger, that's one of the most hair raising rituals I have ever seen. But I'm not going to go around telling people they cannot find anything like it elsewhere. That's where the comparison to the Wrigley Field experience comes in. I mean, it's college gameday, it's hard not to have a great time, even if your team is s***ty. ^^

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 08:36 PM) I hope we someday get to see a slayer and mr perfect tag team. Now you've depressed me.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 06:14 PM) Yep because you know the last night Notre Dame won the national championship was in 1908, and the fans love this lovable loser thing that been placed on the team. The fans also love going to notre dame stadium to get drunk and look at the hot girls. Nope the fans actually care about the football game that is happening, and they actually care about the record of their team year in and year out. Why else would Charlie Weis be on the hot seat after 2 bad years right after 2 BCS years? Well, it's not like they were that good or deserved those BCS appearances. He's rightfully on the hot seat because he's not that good at his job.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 7, 2009 -> 03:09 AM) Do it and then fix my post. People at ND actually care about what's happening on the field. They actually give a f*** about their team which is what makes the entire experience awesome. My favorite part of your post is where you left out the part that makes your post worthless. Cubs =/= Notre Dame Well, do you expect me to leave that in there when my post was saying the exact opposite thing? You're right, though. They're very polarizing. Luckily it's been a very good couple of decades for those of us who hate them.
-
QUOTE (kev211 @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) Anyone who hates the Cubs needs to go to the north side one time and attend a Cubs baseball game with an open mind. You will never experience anything like that anywhere. Go Cubbies. /fixed

QUOTE (knightd1 @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) Am I one of very few people that doesn't like the movie "Rudy"? Seems everryone just loves it and I've always been meh... I hate Notre Dame, but get outta Dodge. Rudy is awesome.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 01:06 PM) I disagree that Gonzaga doesn't get any hate, but I see your point because it's not nearly as much. However, Notre Dame is widely regarded as THE Catholic/Religious University on the United States, I think it's the only school where if brought up, people think religion. I'm not calling you out personally as hating them due to religion (your reasoning to dislike them is perfectly reasonable), but the fact remains that I would bet a lot of people dislike them for religious reasons, but some wouldn't admit to that being the reason. Boston College is also Catholic, I believe. I don't think they get much hate. Plus, I'm Catholic and I should like Notre Dame, if anything. I don't, though.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) I don't think ANY of the hate is religiously-based. Gonzaga is Catholic and it doesn't get any hate. I voted for the bandwagon fans who didn't go to ND, don't have family who went to ND, don't live near ND and have no reason to be fans other than to be attached to the 'name'. This is the biggest reason for me, but there are plenty of reasons. I didn't vote because I could have gone with about 5 or more of the choices.
