  1. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) I'm sure Mrs. LoDuca has had 3some thoughts before. She worked for Playboy afterall. Doesnt hurt to ask! The fact that she was in Playboy makes me think she really doesn't care how many barely legal girls her husband is nailing on the side, as long as she still gets to spend his money.
  2. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) I said "starting to" Besides its seems he and his poorly fashioned cane already happened upon Liriano... the rest of the gang of "Cy" quality pitchers better start growing eyes in the back of their head. The poorly fashioned cane will save our season. Mark my words. Go ahead, mark 'em....
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) "I'm tired of people saying there's time," Pierzynski said. "There's not time. You got to go out and do it." This is the best quote I've seen out of the White Sox organization all season And it's really not surprising who it came from.
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) That doesn't make them good moves. Krivsky's trades are the playing cards tucked under the soles of the Reds' shoes in the NL's tallest midget contest. I never said they were good moves. I said they might be good enough to get them into the playoffs.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:42 PM) Yeah, and it's not like they needed Kearns anyways, what with the Hollandsworth acquisition and all. The Reds would have been lucky to keep pace with the Indians if they were in the AL central. The NL is a horses*** league And that's why some of these moves might actually get them into the postseason.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) Good work Milkman. I don't have the heart to drop Perfect, though. If anyone's interested, the poorly fashioned cane is all theirs.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) LOL You'll have to come up with an avatar of a poorly fashioned cane. Alright, I did a little research. These are the best I could find:
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) LOL You'll have to come up with an avatar of a poorly fashioned cane. CURT IS GOING NOWHERE!!!! That's right, purple. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) You forgot a lot of other pitchers too But yea, you got my drift I figured 6 was enough to prove the point.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) No, no he's not. It's not even close. People (including myself) were complaining about him because he had a 7.11 ERA in April, 5.40 in May, and 4.50 in June, even though he is being paid a ridiculous amount of money (which I still think is way too much for him). He has a 4.99 ERA on the year, along with a 1.40 WHIP, and shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentance as "Cy Young". Unless the sentence is: Pitchers like Jon Garland don't win the Cy Young. or possibly: Jon Garland came into custody of the Cy Young after bashing Francisco Liriano, Johan Santana, Jonathon Papelbon, Roy Halladay, Justin Verlander, and B.J. Ryan in the head with a poorly fashioned cane.
  10. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) I didn't realize he only had three losses... how is it possible that people were calling him Judy and the walking tampon in game threads a couple months ago...? This kid is starting to look like a contender for the AL cy young. His ERA might get in the way of that.
  11. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) And none of them were for anything more than mediocre talent. Still sounds good enough to make the playoffs in the NL.
  12. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) I'll drink to that. I remember we were at a friend's loft in the south loop watching that game. When Blum HR'd we went nuts and the neighbors came over to yell at us for being loud. "Sorry...it's only the first World Series in Chicago since 1959." Sheesh. Some people. EDIT: I should have used Milkman's poorly fashioned cane and clubbed the neighbors. s*** yeah!

    SNL

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 02:06 PM) Milkman you can find this skit on the Best of SNL: Alec Baldwin DVD. It also includes the outrageously funny sketches: -Tony Bennett Show -Joe Pesci Show (with Baldwin as DeNiro) -Your sketch -The "gay voicemail greeting" sketch -The "zingers" And a couple of other classics. Priceless. Well worth at least a rental. I'm glad it's on the DVD because it certainly deserves to be, but I was looking more along the lines of something free on the internet
  14. The WWE really needs another Ted DiBiase. That guy was the perfect bad guy. He had the charisma, the character, and the in-ring ability. You knew he was the bad guy, but you still rooted for him (at least in my case).
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) Tribe sends Todd Hollandsworth to the Reds for a PTBNL/Cash. The Reds have made like 30 moves. I really hope they make the playoffs with all the work they've done.
  16. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Yeah, I envision some handmade thing stolen from a hobo. Possibly some sort of shillelagh (that's for SSI71).
  17. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) on TV, could see multiple Yankees fans sitting in seats near the Sox dugout, including the first row. My question: What freaking Sox fans gives or sells their tickets to Yankees fans in that location? That's crap. Saw the same thing when the Red Sox were in town. Sox fans can't get good seats, but there were Red Sox fans in all the best areas. Very annoying. Well, a lot of times really good tickets are held by businessmen or some sort of politician. The person who actually owns the tickets probably doesn't even go to that many games, so they give them to people with important connections. It probably just happens that a lot of those people might be Yankee or Red Sox fans. And I'd sell my good tickets in a heartbeat if the person were paying me a ridiculous amount.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:38 PM) LMAO....I almost spit out my coffee. I like the poorly fashioned cane part, for some reason.
  19. There are clearly different groups on this site. Each group has a different definition of what a good poster is. Therefore, there is no solid definition of a good poster.
  20. Yeah, back in aught-three, some Yankee fans were proddin' us the whole game, so's me and some of the guys followed 'em through Bridgeport, lured 'em into an alley, beat 'em to death with a lead pipe and a poorly fashioned cane, and stuffed the jerks down a sewer pipe. Those were the good old days.
  21. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) Ozzie's diss of McCarthy and unwillingness to put him into the rotation almost feels Dusty-like. Especially when you factor in the constant days off for Brian. Why is Ozzie so averse to using his young stars? I was kinda thinking that, too.
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:32 AM) jose signed....i think that means that there is not bad blood Because Jose signed himself, while the agent wanted to hold out for more money. I don't like the idea of having another feud with an agent, and therefore not getting certain players because of it.
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) It's in the Tribune today. It's rather pathetic. Wow, I thought the person who started this thread was just exaggerating. That's some pathetic s*** right there. And this kind of garbage makes it hard to say Ozzie doesn't play favorites. McCarthy's "bad" year is still better than what 4/5 of our rotation is doing this year.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:35 AM) I couldn't believe the Guillen quote in which he said McCarthy pitched bad for the Sox last year. Yes, he struggled out of the gate. However, he was our 2nd best pitcher for the last 1/4 of the season. Ozzie doesn't need to bash McCarthy in order to justify keeping him out of the rotation. When did he say that?
  25. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) Dye has had a great season, and was an excellent pick-up for what appears to be a bargain rate. I would hold off extending him however until next year. His stock right now is at an all time high, hardly the time you want to lock him in. If he continues his tear into next season, his price would probably be near what it would be right now. If he tails off a little, his price will go down. Patience I say. Exactly, and offer him a two-year extension next year if he holds up. Then, move him to LF. He'll be a terrible RF by that time.
