Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Actually, this is a carbon copy of last year. The headlines of the last game before All-Star break in 2005: "Swisher's 11th-inning double lifts A's to win" The Sox were swept by Oakland at the Cell. The Sox had roughly a 30-game lead at that point, too It's a lot different than last year, especially when you consider our awful starters.

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) If Ozzie thought he was too deep, they would of moved him up. Not Pod's fault there.... So now Pods is a little leaguer that has to be told where to stand in the OF? Do they also have to yell at him from the dugout to throw to 2B instead of home with his b**** arm?

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) At the start of this series, I wanted to give the edge to our lineup, but their hitters have a much better approach to hitting. Boston looks to be superior to us in all aspects. Agreed. They looked much better in any way I can think of.

If we lose this one, it's going to really suck. This loss could be terrible to go into the break having been swept by a playoff team at home when you had a chance to come back in the last game to salvage something.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) Just like in the ninth, right? Can't continue to put the game on the offense. At some point this year our pitching is going to have to win us a game. We're so f***ing reliant on our offense, it's ridiculous and it'll never hold up.

I would've rather lost it in the 9th. If we don't come back and win this thing, this loss is crushing.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
And we lost it.

Walked him. Getting ourselves into trouble.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:22 PM) Willie shows some skills there. Did he ever steal 3rd with the White Sox? I don't think he was ever on base with the Sox.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) Oh, because Pods hasn't been batting and stealing ahead of Iguchi for the last year and a half, right? He's a completely different and better batter when he doesn't have to work around whatever Pods is doing on base.

Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
God damn it. So we're going to have to watch Vazquez blow another game?
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
You can just tell how much Pods running screws with Iguchi's swing.

Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Anderson had no chance that at-bat. Shut up, Hawk. Just shut up. I'm so sick of hearing his excuses for everything.

Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Don't let this game drag on. We have to win this thing fast.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Cintron's swing is probably too long to catch up with one of Papelbon's fastballs.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
End it this inning. DO NOT let this game go any longer than it has to. End it, end it now.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
I think we have to win this game now. A win would be so huge, but a loss would be devastating, IMO.

Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Crede absolutely unclutch for about a week now. He has personally killed about 15 rallies in that span.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Oh man, hahahaha. I gave up. I gave up.

POP UP PAULY HAS RETURNED!
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Why the f*** can't our middle of the order hit a fastball in the clutch?
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Welp, that was completely unclutch there, Jim.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Maybe one of our 3-4-5 will connect with their inevitable homerun swings.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Jenks racks 'em up. If the heart of our order would do something in the clutch this series, it'd be nice.
-
Red Sox vs. White Sox, 1:05, Game thread
Bobby walks the leadoff hitter on 4 straight pitches. All we need is for Jenks to give up a few runs, and we'll have looked absolutely terrible in every facet of the game in this series. It's a good thing to do against our possibly playoff opponents.
